The ground-source heat pump is a system which takes the shallow surface soil energy as the source of heating and cooling. The temperature of ground source is relatively stable throughout the year, which makes the ground-source heat pump have the higher operation efficiency compared with the traditional air-conditioning system.Study on the ground-source heat pump with properties of thermal dynamics used in heating and air comditioning by ecomomic analysis is still an important issue. In this paper, the ground-source heat pump and the traditional heating and air-conditioning system have been compared in terms of their economic competitiveness. Firstly, it is required to compare the ground-source heat pump with the traditional heating method in terms of the heating economy. Afterwards, it is necessary to compare the ground-source heat pump with the conventional electric refrigeration in terms of the air-conditioning economy. Finally, it is needed to conduct the comprehensive and economic analysis for the ground-source heat pump and the boilers and air conditioning, which includes four programs.

Ground-Source Heat Pump (PSHP) was verified by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as one of the most efficient air conditioning systems on present market. It has a higher efficiency than other heating systems from 50% to 70%, and a higher efficiency than other cooling systems from 30% to 50%. The working principle of PSHP determines its low operating costs. By comparing the total energy efficiency, the existing groundwater heat pump total energy efficiency is the highest, about 115%. The total energy efficiency for soil-source heat pump is up to 100%. But traditional air conditioning is far less than the level. Articles present a research on Ground-Source Heat Pump system and its cost with a scientific and objective principles. Ground-source heat pump is a new central air conditioning system of Low-carbon energy saving. Due to the high technical content, function requirement, and installation difficulty , the average initial investment of ground-source heat pump is much higher than traditional central air conditioning. Taking into account the added costs of heating systems based on traditional central air-conditioning, such as boilers, it will not deviate too much from it.

We propose an integrated geothermal system that consists of air-conditioning and hot water service ground source heat pumps, both of which share a ground water loop. The proposed system increases the COP of the service hot water ground source heat pump by recovering the condensation heat of the air-conditioning ground source heat pump as an evaporator heat source for the hot water service ground source heat pump. Eventually this integration expands the scope and capacity of the evaporator source in addition to the underground water of heat exchangers, which also leads to increase the COP of the air-conditioning ground source heat pump. The integrated geothermal heat pump system was installed in a hotel, and then data were measured for a limited period due to the hotel’s ongoing business activities. A TRNSYS simulation model has been developed as a baseline, and the baseline has been calibrated with the measured data. By running one-year simulations, it turns out that the annual electricity use for heating and cooling, and service hot water was reduced by 19.1% in the cooling season, and by 9.6% in the heating season, with respect to the conventional configuration in which the air-conditioning heat pump and hot water service heat pump work individually on their own ground loops.
