This paper presents the study of convective heat and mass transfer characteristics of an incompressible MHD viscoelastic fluid past an infinite vertical plate immersed in a porous medium with chemical reaction and ion slip effects. Highly nondimensional governing equations are solved analytically by perturbation scheme. The analytical expressions for velocity, shearing stress, temperature, concentration, rate of heat transfer, and mass transfer are obtained. Also, graphical representations have been carried out for velocity field and shearing stress to investigate the effects of viscoelasticity and the effects of ion slip on the fluid flow in combination with other physical parameters involved in the solution.

In the present research study a mathematical analysis has been presented for unsteady MHD natural convective flow of a rotating fluid over an infinite vertical plate immersed in a fluid saturated porous medium with oscillating free-stream. The effects of Hall and ion-slip currents also considered on the fluid flow. The unsteady MHD flow over the vertical plate is induced due to thermal and concentration buoyancy forces and oscillatory movement of the free-stream. The partial differential equations governing the motion for the fluid flow are solved analytically. The effects of various pertinent flow parameters on the fluid velocity, fluid temperature and species concentration are presented in graphical form whereas that on skin friction and rate of heat and mass transfer at the plate are presented in tabular form. An interesting observation recorded from the present analysis that there appears reversal flow in the secondary flow direction due to presence of thermal and/or concentration buoyancy forces. However, in the absence of both reversals flow does not exist in the secondary flow direction. It is also noted that the thickness of momentum boundary layer decreases with rise in frequency of oscillations of the free-stream.

This paper studies the effects of Hall and ion slip on two dimensional incompressible flow and heat transfer of an electrically conducting viscous fluid in a porous medium between two parallel plates, generated due to periodic suction and injection at the plates. The flow field, temperature and pressure are assumed to be periodic functions in ti e ω and the plates are kept at different but constant temperatures. A numerical solution for the governing nonlinear ordinary differential equations is obtained using quasilinearization method. The graphs for velocity, temperature distribution and skin friction are presented for different values of the fluid and geometric parameters.
