Abstract. To implement the protocol contrasting the diffusion of Covid-19, the employer is required, to ensure the safety and health of the worker at work, to adopt measures related to the control of body temperature (with respect for privacy), the minimum distance during work and all other activities such as breaks, canteen breaks, access to toilets, in addition to the adoption of specifically developed safety procedures, such as e.g. the use of man-down detection devices. In this context, the project aims to illustrate a system able of providing support in the safeguarding of workers' health on construction sites. This system, based on information received from sensors capable of identifying workers' positions (e.g., if less than 1m away) and their vital parameters (e.g., body temperature, gasped breathing), as well as moving objects inside the construction site area (e.g., to check if a worker is passing under a moving crane), will raise early alerts directly to the workers and/or to the central software, with respect for privacy, to immediately activate all the necessary measures to mitigate the risk. The system, based on the data communicated by the various sensors, will store and process them for the purpose of extracting useful information for risk management. The proposed system configured itself as a new product taking advantage from a high Technology Readiness Level maturated from the Smart Safety Belt already developed by some of the authors.

According to the industrial accident statistics reported by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, about 10 percent of accidental work site deaths were caused by defect or misuse of safety equipment [1]. For this reason, safety equipment should be understood properly to prepare a plan for its appropriate use [2]. Therefore, this study aims to identify the related problems by studying the understanding of safety equipment for construction works at sites. To conduct this study, a questionnaire survey of 100 construction workers in apartment building construction sites in Jeolla-do was carried out. This study reveals that the education on safety equipment is of help for construction workers, but they do not have a deep understanding of it in actual use.

In construction production, the safety of constructing buildings and structures is achieved by ensuring the required quality as a result of systematic construction control based on the implementation of a complex of technical, economic and organizational measures at all stages of the object's life cycle. The article deals with the actual problem of improving the quality of construction products-buildings and structures in conjunction with the activities of construction control bodies. The article presents the advanced foreign and domestic experience of ensuring the quality control at the construction sites, providing for the prevention of the underlying causes of defects and increasing the interest of the contractors directly. On the basis of the analysis of the current situation with quality control at the construction market, ways to improve its efficiency by developing a unified system of technological implementation of relevant requirements for the quality of construction products, determining the rational number and business load of construction control engineers, as well as the active activities of self-regulatory organizations in this area are offered.

Long-term experience of application of a method of electric heating by heating wires of the monolithic concrete and reinforced concrete structures erected in winter conditions is analyzed. This method, developed by the author of the article, took a dominant position on the construction sites due to the simplicity and efficiency in comparison with the mass applied in those years, the method of electric heating of concrete with steel round and strip electrodes. The data on labor intensity, material and energy costs in comparison with the method of rod electric heating are presented. Step-by-step technological operations on preparatory works and electric heating of monolithic structures with the use of extensive hands-on material, which formed the basis for the development of technological regulations, supplemented by a number of new proposals to improve the technology of works, are concretized. In order to work out the optimal mode of heat treatment, the studies of the concrete thermal conductivity factor in the process of its heating and strength development were carried out. The method for calculation of the basic parameters of concrete electric heating is presented. For simplification of calculations, for a wide contingent of masters, superintendents and technical personnel, the nomogram , making it possible with sufficient accuracy under the construction conditions to calculate the necessary heating parameters, was developed. The necessity of grounding the heating wire remaining in the concrete to reduce the harmful effect of magnetic radiation from various appliances and household appliances on the human body is noted.
