PurposeThis paper aims to explore impact of technology readiness (TR) on e-service quality (ESQ) and effect of ESQ and TR on purchase intention (PI) and behavioral loyalty (BL) in the context of online shopping.Design/methodology/approachWith the help of the existing literature, the authors propose a conceptual model. Questionnaire was designed to collect data, and analysis has been done using a final sample of 341 respondents.FindingsThe results show how TR has a significant impact on ESQ, PI and BL. Outcomes also highlight that only three dimensions of ESQ have a positive impact on both PI and BL. System availability dimension of ESQ impacts neither PI nor BL. Therefore, TR and ESQ together play a vital role as enablers in influencing BL and PI in online shopping context.Practical implicationsThe study results will serve as a guide to business-to-consumer e-commerce players and help them to determine how TR and ESQ dimensions will help them to build BL and PI for online shopping.Originality/valueThis is one of the first studies that takes into consideration both TR and ESQ and check how they impact PI and BL. Also, in the Indian context, it is an under-researched area and tries to fulfill this gap.

ABSTRACT Context: teleconsultation can be a strategic technological tool for patients to access quality healthcare while dealing with resource challenges within health industry. It can be particularly relevant during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, when the social distancing world had to scramble for new technological solutions to offer quality healthcare services with reduced personal contact. Objective: our research proposes an integrative technology acceptance model to evaluate the drivers of teleconsultation adoption by patients, aligning constructs from the technology acceptance model with other drivers, such as technology readiness, trust, and self-efficacy. Methods: analyses included descriptive statistics and structural equations modeling based on survey’s data from a sample of 415 consumers. Results: results indicate significant relationships between the assessed constructs, with particular relevance on the effects of perceived usefulness, anteceded by trust and technology readiness, on attitude and intention to use teleconsultation. Conclusion: our findings provide helpful insights for health organizations and regulators associated with the diffusion of teleconsultation. The study findings also indicate that the challenging COVID-19 pandemic context may be affecting patients’ intention to adopt teleconsultation.

This article aims to empirically investigate the factors that affects the adoption of big data analytics by firms (adopters and non-adopters). The current study is based on three feature that influence BDA adoption: technological context (relative advantage, complexity, compatibility), organizational context (top management support, technology readiness, organizational data environment), and environmental context (competitive pressure, and trading partner pressure). A structured questionnaire-based survey method was used to collect data from 231 firm managers. Relevant hypotheses were derived and tested by partial least squares. The results indicated that technology, organization and environment contexts impact firms' adoption of big data analytics. The findings also revealed that relative advantage, complexity, compatibility, top management support, technology readiness, organizational data environment and competitive pressure have a significant influence on the adopters of big data analytics, whereas relative advantage, complexity and competitive pressure have a significant influence on the non-adopters of big data analytics.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the determinants and strategies of digital transformation adoption (DTA) in a developing country context through the lens of price value, hedonic motivation, inherent innovativeness and technology readiness. The study also investigates the impact of COVID-19 on banks in Ghana from the managers' perspectives and provide possible solutions for banks' successful transitioning and uptake of digital transformation in a post COVID-19 era. The study was carried out using a mixed-method approach from banks in Ghana. The findings of the study revealed that customers' technology acceptance and adoption of innovation is fraught with challenges. At the same time, employees/banks struggled to adjust to new technologies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Further, the findings indicate that price value, inherent innovativeness and technology readiness were the significant factors in DTA. Conversely, hedonic motivation was an insignificant factor in a developing country context. The paper concludes with a conceptual model for emergency digital transformation to respond to future pandemics.

Pelaksanaan tugas dan fungsi DRD tidak disertai peran intermediasi maupun alih teknologi, yang relatif vital, dimana didalamnya ada fungsi audit dan kliring kelayakan teknologi yang dihasilkan atau akan diadopsi melalui kegiatan penilaian tingkat kesiapterapan teknologi. Patut dipertimbangkan untuk mengubah struktur maupun kelembagaan, sehingga pemanfaatan teknologi untuk meningkatkan pelayanan maupun kesejahteraan masyarakat Provinsi DKI Jakarta dapat berjalan dengan baik. The DKI Jakarta Regional Research Council (DRD) was formed to empower research and development institutions as well as science and technology for the development of research and development activities. The implementation of DRD duties and functions is not accompanied by the role of intermediation or technology transfer, which is relatively vital, in which there is an audit function and clearing of the feasibility of the technology produced or to be adopted through technology readiness level assessment activities. It is worth considering changing the structure and institutions, so that the use of technology to improve services and the welfare of the people of DKI Jakarta Province can run well.

Enhancing the biochemical supply chain towards sustainable development requires more efforts to boost technology innovation at early design phases and avoid delays in industrial biotechnology growth. Such a transformation requires a comprehensive step-wise procedure to guide bioprocess development from laboratory protocols to commercialization. This study introduces a process design framework to guide research and development (R&D) through this journey, bearing in mind the particular challenges of bioprocess modeling. The method combines sustainability assessment and process optimization based on process efficiency indicators, technical indicators, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and process optimization via Water Regeneration Networks (WRN). Since many bioprocesses remain at low Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), the process simulation module was examined in detail to account for uncertainties, providing strategies for successful guidance. The sustainability assessment was performed using the geometric mean-based sustainability footprint metric. A case study based on Chitosan production from shrimp exoskeletons was evaluated to demonstrate the method’s applicability and its advantages in product optimization. An optimized scenario was generated through a WRN to improve water management, then compared with the case study. The results confirm the existence of a possible configuration with better sustainability performance for the optimized case with a sustainability footprint of 0.33, compared with the performance of the base case (1.00).

Pemerintah mengemban amanat untuk memberikan pelayanan yang prima kepada masyarakat, sehingga peningkatan kualitas pelayanan publik merupakan agenda utama yang harus dilakukan. Seperti yang dilakukan oleh kepolisian sektor (Polsek) Semboro dengan meluncurkan aplikasi Face to Face Polsek Semboro pada tanggal 23 Oktober 2020. Aplikasi tersebut merupakan inovasi Polsek Semboro untuk memberikan kemudahan kepada masyarakat kecamatan Semboro dalam pembuatan surat kehilangan baik dokumen maupun surat-surat berharga di era pandemi covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kesiapan pengguna aplikasi Face to Face Polsek Semboro menggunakan metode Technology Readiness Index (TRI). Penelitian diawali dengan melakukan wawancara, merancang kuesioner sesuai metode TRI, kemudian melakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Setelah kuesioner dinyatakan lolos uji, kuesioner disebarkan ke responden penelitian. Data yang didapat kemudian dianalisa untuk menghitung tingkat kesiapan pengguna dan memberikan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan kesiapan pengguna aplikasi Face to Face. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa variabel Optimism memberi skor terbesar dibandingkan dengan variabel Discomfort, Innovativeness, dan Insecurity. Skor TRI yang didapatkan sebesar 3,178 dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang (Medium Technology Readiness).
