Growth regulators especially auxins and cytokinins are critical for plant in-vitro regeneration. The effect of these plant growth regulators on in-vitro propagation of Saccharum officinarum L (Sugarcane) was investigated. In vitro response of two different varieties of sugarcane (NCS 005 and NCS 008) to Plant Growth Regulators was obtained in this study. Formation of buds was obtained on shoot apical meristem when cultured on MS (Murashige and Skoog) medium supplemented with 0.1mg/l BAP (6-Benzylaminopurine). After two weeks of initiation, regenerated meristem was inoculated into MS (Murashige and Skoog) fortified with different concentrations and combination of cytokinins. Shoot multiplication was optimal on 0.5mg/l BAP + 0.25 mg/l Kin(Kinetin) for NCS 005 variety while for NCS 008 variety, no significant (P≥0.05) difference was observed between 1.5mg/l BAP and 1.5mg/l BAP +0.5mg/l Kin. The best root induction for in vitro derived shoots was obtained on 1.0 mg/l NAA (Naphthalene acetic acid) and 2.0 mg/l IBA( Indole butyric acid) for both varieties of sugarcane within ten days of culture transfer. Successfully established plantlets showed excellent growth response when weaned under regulated green house conditions.

In vitro: regeneration of Chenopodium quinoa Willd. was achieved from cotyledonary nodes explants. In this study, used 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP) and α-Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) of plant growth regulators with different concentrations individually as well as in combination and used different concentrations of sugar (sucrose) with different concentrations. For was rooting, used half strength (½MS), full-strength MS and ½ MS supplemented with 0.2 mg/l of NAA. The results mentioned, explant responding (%) to multiplication was about 73% for all BAP treatments compared with control and average numbers of shoot increased with increased BAP concentration except 5 mg/l of BAP. The highest explant responding (%) was in media supplemented BAP without NAA compared other treatments noted that the media with combination of BAP and NAA gives formation of callus in bases of the plantlets. Also, the result inducted the combinations between (BAP–NAA) was highly significantly (P≤ 0.001) and less effective on number of shoots where the highest number of shoot was 3.40 in media with 3 mg/l BAP compared other treatments. The highest of explant responding 93.33% was in media supplement with 10 g/l sucrose and (10 g/l sucrose + 3 mg/l BAP), but sucrose level for good greening and developed shoots (4 shoots) was in medium supplement with 10 g/l sucrose. The shoots rooted well on half-strength MS medium with 60% percentage of root. The rooted shoots were acclimatized and transferred to green house to follow their development.

Aim: Caesalpinia bonducella Flem is a dioecious scrambling woody liana of Caesalpinoideae, a subfamily of Leguminosae. The plant is threatened and distributed in the deciduous forests of the Western Ghats of India. Being an important medicinal plant Caesalpinia bonducella F. attracted many scientists to exploit various activities associated with a number of phytoconstituents. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the most suitable media and suitable concentrations of plant growth regulators for in vitro Callogenesis and screening of antimicrobial activity of callus and seed of Caesalpinia bonducella. Materials and Methods: Callus was initiated from stem explants, on 1x and 0.5x MS medium plus supplements. The effects of plant growth regulators on callus cultures were studied and observations were made. The in vitro antibacterial activity was performed by using extracts of callus and seed of Caesalpinia bonducella in petroleum ether and methanol against multidrug resistance organisms. The organic extracts of seed and callus of the plant at concentrations of 0.02 mg/ml - 0.1 mg/ml were taken and their activities were measured.   Results: The combination of 2.5 mgL-1 2,4-D  with 2 mgL-1 BAP, resulted in the highest frequency and the highest mean percentage of callus formation (2.35 ± 0.294) with yellow friable callus. The results revealed that all the extracts had a variable degree of antibacterial activity. Conclusions: It was observed that 2,4-D at 2.5 mgL-1 in combination with BAP,2.0 mgL-1 BAP resulted in early initiation, highest induction percentage, with frequency highest mean percentage of callus formation, Antimicrobial tests with methanol and diethyl ether extract of Caesalpinia bonducella seed powder against the clinical isolates showed the zone of inhibition for all the pathogens tested with concentration of methanolic extract of C. bonducella seed powder.

A cultura de tecidos tem sido utilizada com diversas finalidades, sendo a regeneração dos explantes, na fase de estabelecimento da cultura, uma etapa determinante para a realização da técnica. Uma das dificuldades encontradas na fase inicial, além da contaminação por microorganismos, é a capacidade de regeneração dos explantes isolados, que normalmente necessitam de uma fonte exógena de regulador de crescimento para seu desenvolvimento. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de reguladores de crescimento na regeneração de ápices caulinares de Lavandula dentata. Ápices caulinares foram isolados em meio de cultura LS, acrescido de 20 g L-1 de sacarose, 2,5 µM ácido indolbutírico (IBA) e 6 g L-1 de agar. Foram testadas diferentes concentrações de 6-benzilaminopurina (BAP) combinadas ou não com 0,3 µM de ácido giberélico (GA3). O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições de 10 explantes por parcela. A maior altura das brotações foi 2,7 cm obtida com 0,5 µM de BAP + 2,5 µM de IBA + 0,3 µM de GA3. O maior número de folhas por brotação foi obtido com 1,0 µM de BAP + 2,5 µM de IBA, sendo ca. 8 folhas por brotação. A maior porcentagem de explantes regenerados foi obtida com o tratamento 10,0 µM de BAP + 2,5 µM de IBA + 0,3 µM de GA3, no qual 90% dos explantes formaram novas brotações. Concluiu-se que a combinação dos reguladores de crescimento testados promoveu o desenvolvimento inicial dos ápices caulinares, e na presença de GA3 foram obtidas brotações mais longas.

We studied the effect of different plant growth regulators on in vitro regeneration and plant growth of three cultivars of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) from explants derived from hypocotyls and cotyledons of aseptically grown seedlings. The regeneration capacity was significantly influenced by cultivar and explant type. The highest number of shoots regenerated in both types of explants was recorded on MS medium supplemented with 1.0 mg/dm<sup>3</sup> zeatin and 0.1 mg/dm<sup>3</sup> IAA. The cultivar UC 82 showed the best regeneration capacity on all types of used media. The most responsive explants were hypocotyls with 90&ndash;92% regeneration in dependence on the used cultivars and mean production from 0.18 to 0.38 shoots per explant. &nbsp;
