Chipping is the most common complication in zirconia-supported porcelain prosthesis. If the prosthesis has ideal adaptation and there is no problem other than chipping, intraoral repair is the most practical solution for such failures. Composite resins are often preferred for intraoral porcelain repair. However, the wear and unstable colour of composite resins negatively affect aesthetics. This complication could be restored intraorally and aesthetically with ceramic veneer. This case report presents the intraoral repair of a zirconia supported Fixed Partial Denture (FPD) consisting of four units. The cohesive fracture of the ceramic material in the incisal part of maxillary right central incisor was restored with ceramic veneers. Preparation was done with a tapered, rounded end diamond bur under water-cooling. The impression was taken with elastomeric impression material. Ceramic veneer was manufactured with a leucite-reinforced glass-ceramic and cemented with light cure resin cement. Based on the three-year follow up of the performed intraoral repair, ceramic veneers have shown to be an alternative treatment for fractured FPD.

Autogenous tooth fragment bonding offers advantages over restorations with composite resins and porcelain, including better esthetics, greater durability, reestablishment of the natural function of the dental element and short execution time. A case is presented of a 14-year-old male patient who suffered an oblique crown fracture of the permanent right maxillary central incisor (11) due to a traumatic fall. The clinical examination revealed pulp exposure with no invasion of the biological space. Due to the extension of the fracture, endodontic treatment and the placement of an intra-root esthetic pin was needed. The tooth was restored using the autogenous fragment bonding method. Excellent esthetic and functional results were observed after two years of follow up.

ABSTRACT Replacement of single anterior tooth is a complex, challenging procedure that can be accomplished with implant-supported restorations as well as conventional porcelain-fused-to-metal and resin-bonded fixed partial dentures. Different esthetic treatment options must be explored iri treating such patients. Drifting of teeth into the edentulous area may reduce the available pontic space; whereas a diastema existing before an extraction may result in excessive mesiodistal dimension to the pontic space. Although rarely used, loop connectorsare sometimes required to address this problem of excessive mesio-distalpontic space. Loop connectors offer a simple solution for a situation involving an anterior edentulous space albeit with the maintenance of the diastema. This article presents a case with excessive space in the anterior region treated witha loop connector to achieve ideal esthetic results in the maxillary anterior segment.

ABSTRACT Injury to anterior teeth is a relatively common event. Dentists are confronted with managing dental trauma and restoring fractured teeth on a regular basis. Hence the technique that speed and simplify treatment, restore esthetics and improve long term success rate are therefore of potential value and should be considered. If an intact tooth fragment is present after trauma, the incisal edge reattachment procedure presents a conservative, simple and esthetic alternative. Clinical trials have reported that reattachment using modern dentine bonding agents and resin system may achieve a functional and esthetic success. This article presents with a case report of restoration of fractured maxillary central incisor using fragment reattachment in a 12 year old child. The reattachment was carried out using resin cement followed by additional chamfer on buccal surface which was restored with resin composite. The reattached fragment was found to be intact at a 2 year follow-up visit.

Abstract An adult male patient who had lost his maxillary left central incisor seven years ago in a traffic accident presented with a chief complaint about his unaesthetic appearance associated with the loss of his maxillary left central incisor space, a Class III molar occlusion, and an anterior open bite malocclusion due to tonguethrust swallowing. Fixed orthodontic treatment was rendered following fan-type expansion of the maxilla. Resin bonded fixed dental prosthesis offers most conservative and cost-effective option with missing teeth in aesthetic zone specially when an implant prosthesis is not indicated. This case report describes a treatment option for the replacement of a missing maxillary central incisor using a double-retainer resin-bonded fixed partial denture (RBFPD), fabricated from zirconium dioxide (ZrO) ceramic. No clinical complications were observed at follow-up examination after placement of the prosthesis. Satisfactory functional and aesthetic results were achieved. A treatment modality using a ZrO ceramic RBFPD is an alternative for single anterior tooth replacement.
