Abstract This study explores the type of linguistic difficulties that Saudi students are encounter in Introductory Algebra courses at college level and how an integrated pedagogical approach, such as Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), might impact students’ learning of both algebra and the language needed to learn it. A mixed-method design was implemented for 12 weeks to collect and analyze data in three phases. The study sample comprised of a study group of 28 students from an Introductory Algebra class. Findings identified and classified the types of difficulties that the students encountered and suggested a CLIL instructional model to overcome or minimize them.

This chapter explores research findings that the brain more easily remembers information it deems useful, relevant, or meaningful. In addition, the brain will pay particular attention to information containing emotional content. The neural mechanisms underlying emotion, motivation, and learning intertwine. The author shares various exercises to take advantage of this aspect of brain function, encouraging singers to find meaning and relevance to their own lives in the texts and music they perform. While perhaps difficult to achieve in an algebra class, the choral classroom provides an ideal environment to encourage an emotional connection to learning by encouraging singers to develop backstories and a deep personal understanding of the texts they sing. Humor is included in the range of emotions that will help encode memories and can be another useful tool in rehearsal.

The present study is a part of design research in local instructional theory in a pre-algebraic lesson using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. The article will focus on recommendations for the type of pre-algebra class that supports elementary school students’ algebraic thinking. As design research study, it followed the three steps of preliminary studies, teaching experiment and retrospective analysis. The subject of the study is 32 fifth grade students of MIN 2 Palembang during the teaching experiment phase.  The data were gathered from students’ worksheets, lesson observation and interviews with the students. Data analysis was done using a constant comparative qualitative method. The results from the study indicate that pattern investigation in pre-algebra class that visualized geometrically supports the students to identify the form of the pattern and construct generalization.

In this paper, we study a class of local rings that are not isomorphic to the class of two local rings we have been working on before. This class is also an isomorphism to a special matrix algebra. We construct a projective coordinate space over a module defined on this special algebra class. Specifically, in a 3-dimensional projective coordinate space, the incidence matrix for a line that combines the certain two points and also all points of a line given with the incidence matrix are found by the help of Maple programme.
