In this commentary, we look at digital technology use in teacher education and practice, theoretical foundations, definitions, and digital competence frameworks in an educational context. With rapid changes in the domain of technology classroom teaching, teachers need to learn and adapt quickly. We argue that a more comprehensive approach to understanding how student-teacher learning with technology is needed.

Advances in machine translation resulted in an increase of both volume and quality of machine-translated texts. However, machine translation still requires humans to post-edit the translation. This paper proposes a product-based approach of a post-editing (PE) experiment that was carried out with a total of 10 MA translation students. The goal of this study comprised both the analysis of the post-editing results performed by student translators involving a machine-translated text in MateCat and the subsequent error markup. By comparing the quality reports obtained at the end of the post-editing process, we analysed the linguistic quality results and observed a heterogeneous error distribution, considerable divergence in severity level ratings and a huge span of TTE (time to edit). This study aims at making a contribution to the integration of post-editing activities into the translation technology classroom for students without prior experience in PE.

Recognizing that music teachers may struggle to implement songwriting activities in a classroom, and that iconic notation provides an opportunity to increase access to school music for all students, the purpose of this article is to share one model of songwriting activities in a music technology class using chord diagrams, beat grids, and keyboard charts. The article outlines specific steps to the creation of drum grooves, simple chord progressions, bass lines, and melodies, using forms of notation that are appropriate for popular music instruments and styles.

This demonstration video, for use in a primary school technology classroom, shows how strong structures can be made using triangular shapes. It then proceeds to challenge learners to make a tower from 20cm straws or other material of similar lengths. The tower needs to be able to hold a tennis ball (or object of a similar size and mass) 30cm above a surface.
