Modelling and analysing production lines are crucial for the research community and designers interested in increasing production utilisation and reducing costs. This paper aims to model and analyse a real production process of a Jordanian vehicles manufacturing company and improve production line resource utilisation using ARENA simulation software. The methodology used is simulation modelling to develop a new production line design. Performance measures are obtained from data given by the company management and direct observation of the production line. A suggested modified Arena simulation model is developed for the production line processes based on the collected data. Verification and validation analysis of the proposed model is done. Results show that the proposed model’s performance is better than the current one in terms of; overall total processing time, the overall waiting time, the overall work in process, and the overall utilisation.

This paper aims to introduce the adaptation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in the car-loading process of Ro-Ro ships compared with the current loading process. This study analyzed the applicable scenarios for the AGVs’ adaptation in a Ro-Ro port, employing Arena simulation to compare the productivity of the loading processes. The results revealed that the adaptation of the AGVs in the car-loading process of the Ro-Ro ships improves productivity and solves several problems of the current loading process. With 21 or more AGVs, the entire processing time is similar to or less than the current loading process, whereas, after 40 AGVs, it stayed the same. Furthermore, as the number of AGVs increases, the transfer time decreases, but the queue becomes longer. Identifying the effect of the AGV adaptation, this study provides valuable insights for developing the various traffic situations in Ro-Ro port operations.

Improvement of manufacturing production is crucial to increase productivity. ARENA is a useful simulation application to imitate the real-time result for measuring productivity. The aim of this research is to execute production smoothness improvement through ARENA simulation application. This is a collection of production information of the selected food industry, as a real case study to construct simulation model in ARENA application. From the simulation, the current manufacturing system of the food industry will be analysed. Based on the issues found,a few improvementswere suggestedfor the system. In order to prove the enforceability of the improved system, the simulation model of the improved system is to construct and analyse its real-time performance via ARENA simulation application. Finally, the most suitable improvement suggestion will be proposed for the food industry. In conclusion, this study had implemented the ARENA application to improve the smoothness of the manufacturing system.

Soekarno-Hatta Intl Airport had become busier every and each year passed. Based on Airnav’s data in 2016, there was about 1.200 aircraft movement, included take-off and landing, happened in Soekarno-Hatta Intl Airport in one day. These numerous movements made Soekarno-Hatta Intl Airport became the 12th busiest airport in the world based on Airport Council International (ACI). The long queue of the aircraft at the taxiway is deniable and became one of the problems that needs to be resolved. This research would make aircrafts movement simulation in Soekarno-Hatta Intl Airport’s taxiway(s) using Rockwell Arena Simulation software. The simulation results would be total taxiing time of an aircraft, which intersection(s) that traffic happened, and the total of aircraft(s) that doing taxi in and taxi out. This simulation would help to determine and evaluate the factors that initiated the queue in the taxiway and modify taxiing route to reduce the traffic. The results of this research can be applied by the airport as a reference for scheduling aircraft’s departing or arriving, develop airport airside facility, and to improve taxiing route so the duration of aircraft’s taxiing time can be reduced

Today’s scenario all manufacturing organizations are moving rapidly to adopt new process modeling, performance analysis through simulation, in order to design a new costeffective system. Organizations made several changes in their manufacturing systems to increase profit and to sustain their significance in global markets. Simulation modeling is a well accepted technique for improving process performance. In this study, the mineral water company operates the production line with less throughput, long cycle times, frequent machine failures and insufficient utilization of its resources. A simulation model is developed for the successful bottling and packaging of the production line by using Arena simulation software. The model is developed for AMWSC packaging process for returnable glass bottle Production Line. This model eliminates the bottlenecks in production line and provides optimal performance. By applying Effective Preventive Maintenance Strategy, the production line throughput is increased from 21.12% to 54.03% and the cycle time is reduced by 33.33%.
