The paper is focused at addressing lack of commitment challenges by the consultants as a result of ineffectiveness of transformational leadership and other motivation factors at the management consulting firms in Gauteng Province, South Africa. A Pearson correlation analysis was carried out to determine the relationship that exists between transformational leadership and consultants' commitment variables. The sample size of the study was 100 respondents who were randomly selected from the 50 management consulting firms in Gauteng Province. The study reflected that there is an existence of a significant relationship between transformational leadership and consultants' commitment. The study recommended that leadership in management consultancy firms should embrace the transformational leadership style in order to enhance the commitment of the consultants. The consulting firms should put relevant policies and procedures that are targeted to meet the well-being of the consultants in order to retain and establish a strong dedicated team of professionals.

This piece examines the ways in which management consulting firms have co-opted concepts drawn from jazz and improvised music to develop corporate responses to the pandemic.

The objective of this chapter is to review some of the complex systems and institutional factors that can influence the evolution of professional services companies (accounting/auditing firms, CRAs, and management consulting firms), compliance (as a physical phenomenon), enforcement, allocation of resources, risk perceptions, and sustainable growth (within the context of investors' decisions, sustainable growth, and geopolitical factors).

This chapter compares CRAs (credit rating agencies), management consulting firms, environmental auditing firms, tax consulting firms, and auditing/accounting firms with the purpose of providing a better understanding of the current and possible regulatory, mechanism design, and industrial organization factors that can affect the global accounting/auditing industry and the global CRA industry. It also analyzes banks, credit rating agencies (CRAs), and investors as joint tortfeasors and co-conspirators (in litigation against accounting/auditing firms).

PurposeThe purpose of the paper is to investigate the marketing and communication activities carried out by small management consulting firms and how they relate to customers.Design/methodology/approachAfter the framing of the literature on the subject, the study is based on the results of a survey carried out through an online questionnaire. The sample under investigation is represented by 914 small consulting firms located in central Italy.FindingsResults show that half of the sample carried out marketing and communication activities, mainly through the website and social media, while others participating in events as speakers at conferences. It also emerges that management consulting firms carry out activities aimed at maintaining relationship with customers even if they do not invest time in market research in order to find potential and new clients.Practical implicationsThe study suggests that management consulting firms should adopt a systematic and strategic approach to communication and should develop a complete and integrated digital communication strategy, as well as to rethink the consulting business model.Originality/valueThere are no previous studies that provide insight into the everyday practice of marketing and communication of small management consulting services in today's dynamic and changing economic environment.

The expansion and global role of management consulting services have become a topic of some interest in the context of the internationalization of services. The objectives, motivations, and strategies of Transnational Management-Consulting Firms (TMCFs) in the Thai market is the core subject of this paper. In addition, this paper presents performance and operational aspects of TMCFs in Thailand. Since TMCFs may enter foreign markets through a number of entry modes, their entry mode preferences in this market are analyzed in the context of their objectives, and local and regional conditions. This analysis is based on a recently completed interview-based survey of TMCFs in Thailand and is therefore a timely examination of a crucial subject—especially given the ongoing debate about "Services and Development". Firm, home and host-country related and international factors are separately identified and their interactions discussed. The future prospects for TMCFs in Thailand and ASEAN are also discussed.
