In this paper, we construct novel numerical algorithms to solve the heat or diffusion equation. We start with 105 different leapfrog-hopscotch algorithm combinations and narrow this selection down to five during subsequent tests. We demonstrate the performance of these top five methods in the case of large systems with random parameters and discontinuous initial conditions, by comparing them with other methods. We verify the methods by reproducing an analytical solution using a non-equidistant mesh. Then, we construct a new nontrivial analytical solution containing the Kummer functions for the heat equation with time-dependent coefficients, and also reproduce this solution. The new methods are then applied to the nonlinear Fisher equation. Finally, we analytically prove that the order of accuracy of the methods is two, and present evidence that they are unconditionally stable.

Abstract In this paper, we analyze the so-called Master Equation of the linear backreaction of a plasma disk in the central object magnetic field, when small scale ripples are considered. This study allows to single out two relevant physical properties of the linear disk backreaction: (i) the appearance of a vertical growth of the magnetic flux perturbations; (ii) the emergence of sequence of magnetic field O-points, crucial for the triggering of local plasma instabilities. We first analyze a general Fourier approach to the solution of the addressed linear partial differential problem. This technique allows to show how the vertical gradient of the backreaction is, in general, inverted with respect to the background one. Instead, the fundamental harmonic solution constitutes a specific exception for which the background and the perturbed profiles are both decaying. Then, we study the linear partial differential system from the point of view of a general variable separation method. The obtained profile describes the crystalline behavior of the disk. Using a simple rescaling, the governing equation is reduced to the second-order differential Whittaker equation. The zeros of the radial magnetic field are found by using the solution written in terms Kummer functions. The possible implications of the obtained morphology of the disk magnetic profile are then discussed in view of the jet formation. GraphicAbstract

Recently, Special Function Theory (SPFT) and Operator Theory (OPT) have acquired a lot of concern due to their considerable applications in disciplines of pure and applied mathematics. The Hurwitz-Lerch Zeta type functions, as a part of Special Function Theory (SPFT), are significant in developing and providing further new studies. In complex domain, the convolution tool is a salutary technique for systematic analytical characterization of geometric functions. The analytic functions in the punctured unit disk are the so-called meromorphic functions. In this present analysis, a new convolution complex operator defined on meromorphic functions related with the Hurwitz-Lerch Zeta type functions and Kummer functions is considered. Certain sufficient stipulations are stated for several formulas of this defining operator to attain subordination. Indeed, these outcomes are an extension of known outcomes of starlikeness, convexity, and close to convexity.

A mathematical model of economic growth with fading memory and continuous distribution of delay time is suggested. This model can be considered as a generalization of the standard Keynesian macroeconomic model. To take into account the memory and gamma-distributed lag we use the Abel-type integral and integro-differential operators with the confluent hypergeometric Kummer function in the kernel. These operators allow us to propose an economic accelerator, in which the memory and lag are taken into account. The fractional differential equation, which describes the dynamics of national income in this generalized model, is suggested. The solution of this fractional differential equation is obtained in the form of series of the confluent hypergeometric Kummer functions. The asymptotic behavior of national income, which is described by this solution, is considered.
