Current Situation and Measures to Improve the Ideological and Political Education among Students in Higher Vocational Institutions

College students are the foundation for China’s long-term development plan. The ideological and political education for higher vocational institution students is particularly important. This paper firstly analyzes the current situation of ideological and political education for students in higher vocational institutions. In addition to that, following the understanding of the main problems existing in this education, this paper provides a comprehensive analysis and systematic measures for improving the ideological and political education among students in higher vocational institutions.

The current study investigates the use of the address terms mate and guys in a corpus of classroom discourse in a vocational institution in New Zealand. Findings reveal that in addition to mate employed to address one person, and guys employed to address many people, these two address terms had very different functions. Guys was used to attract students' attention, to indicate the start of, end of, or change in task, and to emphasize important content, while mate functioned largely in mitigating face threats and in affective functions, such as encouragement and praise. This study shows how the use of these address terms facilitated the tutors’ achievement of these functions, which are all central to teaching.

Rancang Bangun Mesin Laser Engraver and Cutter Untuk Membuat Kemasan Modul Praktikum Berbahan Akrilik

In the competence of vocational institution, lecturers, students and PLP staff are expected to make their own appropriate equipment. An educational laboratory as a place to provide adequate practice and supporting equipments. Equipment or innovations that are designed must be packaged in an attractive form as a prototype of a product. As for the research and or as a practical tool in the laboratory. The packaging also serves to protect the device made and increase its life time. Usually the material used to make a casing material is acrylic. The thicker the acrylic, the more difficult it is to make. Laser engraver or laser cutter as a solution to facilitate the manufacture of casings that made from acrylic. User will create a two-dimensional design using a program, such as Inkscape. Then the design is saved or changed into gcode. The resulting gcode file is then sent to the laser engraver to make the design. The power of the laser head used, will determine the thickness of the acrylic to be cut. In this research, 2 mm thick acrylic was tested using a 15W laser diode module.
