In this study, which was carried out in order to identify the challenges experienced in distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic period and to propose solutions to these problems, the phenomenology design was used. Twelve experts who had experience of distance education during the COVID-19 period contributed to the study. The findings obtained within the scope of the study show that there are challenges such as the unpreparedness of institutions, insufficient infrastructure, increased digital divide among learners, and difficulties in measurement-evaluation processes and support services processes during the pandemic period. Regarding the solution of these problems, solutions such as investing in infrastructure, revising support services, using teaching techniques suitable for distance education, taking responsibility in learning processes, and changing measurement-evaluation techniques have been presented.

The Iqra method is one of the methods in teaching the Qur'an. This method uses the Iqra book, consisting of 6 levels or volumes. Each volume has its difficulties, from volume 1 being the easiest to volume 6 being the most difficult. Many Al-Qur’an Education Parks (TPA) use this method, but in reality, TPA teachers still do not fully understand this Iqra teaching method. Therefore, this PKM aims to identify and improve the quality standards of teaching reading Al-Qur’an using the Iqra method through mentoring activities. Partners in this service come from all teachers and guardians of students at TPA Hayatinnur. This service was held on February 15-16, 2021, at the Hayatinnur TPA hall, attended by four teachers and 24 student guardians divided into two shifts. The method used in this implementation is a direct demonstration or training on the Iqra Method Teaching technique, Class Management, and Classical Iqra Teaching & Problem Solving. After the mentoring was done, it was clear that the teachers had begun to master teaching techniques.

Digitization has been around for several years, but its use has become a necessity with the Covid-19 pandemic. Lockdown forced us to work remotely overnight, to use digital networks to communicate, make payments, learn all sectors of activity were forced to adapt to the digital age in one night. This paper shows how teaching, research, and the study plan must adapt to the new communication requirements and students’ needs to achieve the course learning outcomes in a virtual environment. The paper proposes a realistic academic plan design - backward. Taking into account new environmental and digital challenges, the backward design facilitates the decision on the content of the study plan, the elimination of less important parts, and the application of new communication and assessment techniques.

Chapter 4 addresses teaching techniques that draw artistry out of children. It describes the tender yet robust nature of children’s artistry and advises that how teachers prompt artistry can draw it out of children or send it into its shell. It identifies aspects of the musical context that are necessary for children’s artistry to thrive and encourages teachers to create the emotional as well as musical context within which children’s artistry can flourish. It also offers techniques for prompting the musical mind so that teachers can most effectively communicate with a developing sense of meter and sense of tonality, directing children’s mindset musically as well as emotionally for developing artistry. This chapter facilitates the application of concepts from previous chapters and builds on the motivation generated throughout this book, empowering teachers to uncover the artistry in their own classrooms and children’s choruses, and to champion children’s artistry in the field of music education.

Risk-free micro-teaching affords an opportunity for pre-service teachers (PTs) to practice teaching and student engagement techniques outside of a traditional classroom setting. More time to practice teaching is often an expressed desire of PTs. Orchestrating time to practice teaching techniques learned in pedagogy courses is a difficult undertaking for teacher educators, especially while trying to ensure low-risk or risk-free experiences. As explained through this study, the implementation of a Mursion simulation to offer risk-free micro-teaching experiences for PTs served as a valuable addition to an introductory teaching course. The Mursion experience enhanced PTs’ personal preparation for teaching as well as enhancing their professionalism and lesson quality.
