The Iqra method is one of the methods in teaching the Qur'an. This method uses the Iqra book, consisting of 6 levels or volumes. Each volume has its difficulties, from volume 1 being the easiest to volume 6 being the most difficult. Many Al-Qur’an Education Parks (TPA) use this method, but in reality, TPA teachers still do not fully understand this Iqra teaching method. Therefore, this PKM aims to identify and improve the quality standards of teaching reading Al-Qur’an using the Iqra method through mentoring activities. Partners in this service come from all teachers and guardians of students at TPA Hayatinnur. This service was held on February 15-16, 2021, at the Hayatinnur TPA hall, attended by four teachers and 24 student guardians divided into two shifts. The method used in this implementation is a direct demonstration or training on the Iqra Method Teaching technique, Class Management, and Classical Iqra Teaching & Problem Solving. After the mentoring was done, it was clear that the teachers had begun to master teaching techniques.

Teaching reading comprehension to the students is not easy. The teacher often finds a lot of students’ learning motivation problems from the students. The students’ problems are (1) students’ interest, (2) students’ effort, (3) self responsibility activity or persistence, (4) students’ optimal experiences; (5) reinforcement and teacher's method. One of the efforts to minimize the problems is by empowering the students in the learning process. One of the teaching techniques that can empower learners is Reciprocal Teaching Method. An action research was carried out and aimed at finding out whether Reciprocal teaching can improve the students’ learning motivation in reading comprehension in classroom when the teacher applies reciprocal teaching. Two cycles are applied. The data are taken by observing the learning process when an action is applied, by interviewing the learners involved, by giving questionnaires and by conducting interview. The finding of the research shows that Reciprocal Teaching Method can improve the students’ learning motivation in reading comprehension when it is applied.

Background: The flipped classroom model provides an ideal ground to convert a traditional classroom into an interactive environment based on problem-solving learning with a focus on university students’ self-determination. Objectives: The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of flipped and traditional teaching methods in problem-solving learning and self-determination among university students. Methods: The research method was experimental with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. The statistical population included all female students of Farhangian University in Ahvaz city in the academic year 2019. Using a purposive sampling method, 36 students were selected and randomly divided into experimental and control groups (n = 18 per group). The research instrument included the Problem-Solving Inventory (PSI) and the Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction scale. The experimental group received the flipped teaching program during eight 120-min sessions once a week; however, the control group received the traditional teaching method. multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA), univariate analysis of covariance (ANCOVA), and Bonferroni post hoc tests were used to analyze the data. Results: The posttest scores (mean ± SD) of problem-solving learning and self-determination were 83.77 ± 14.17 and 119.33 ± 13.79, respectively, in the experimental group, which were significantly different from the scores of the control group. The flipped classroom promoted problem-solving learning and components of self-determination among university students in the experimental group when compared to the control group (P = 0.01). The flipped teaching method was more effective than the traditional method in increasing problem-solving learning and self-determination among university students. Conclusions: According to the findings, the flipped teaching method had greater impacts on students’ problem-solving and self-determination than had the traditional method.

<p>Reading is a demanded skill that should be mastered by students. With reading, students can gain much information. In fact, the reading comprehension of many students is still low, worrying, unsatisfactory, and far from the expectation. Students are reluctant to read due the fact that texts are difficult to understand. This condition leads the teachers to apply some teaching techniques in reading class. One of them is peer tutoring. Peer tutoring is a technique where the students play the roles of a tutor and a tutee. This technique helps students to focus on what is important. By generating questions and answering them, the students review and reformulate their knowledge about the text so that it provides students more chance to enhance their understanding toward the text. The students gain a better understanding of the materials by learning from each other. This article is aimed at describing the use of peer tutoring in teaching reading and what happens with the class when peer tutoring technique is applied.
