AbstractLet $\Gamma (x)$ Γ ( x ) denote the classical Euler gamma function. We set $\psi _{n}(x)=(-1)^{n-1}\psi ^{(n)}(x)$ ψ n ( x ) = ( − 1 ) n − 1 ψ ( n ) ( x ) ($n\in \mathbb{N}$ n ∈ N ), where $\psi ^{(n)}(x)$ ψ ( n ) ( x ) denotes the nth derivative of the psi function $\psi (x)=\Gamma '(x)/\Gamma (x)$ ψ ( x ) = Γ ′ ( x ) / Γ ( x ) . For λ, α, $\beta \in \mathbb{R}$ β ∈ R and $m,n\in \mathbb{N}$ m , n ∈ N , we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for the functions $$ L(x;\lambda ,\alpha ,\beta )=\psi _{m+n}(x)-\lambda \psi _{m}(x+ \alpha ) \psi _{n}(x+\beta ) $$ L ( x ; λ , α , β ) = ψ m + n ( x ) − λ ψ m ( x + α ) ψ n ( x + β ) and $-L(x;\lambda ,\alpha ,\beta )$ − L ( x ; λ , α , β ) to be completely monotonic on $(-\min (\alpha ,\beta ,0),\infty )$ ( − min ( α , β , 0 ) , ∞ ) .As a result, we generalize and refine some inequalities involving the polygamma functions and also give some inequalities in terms of the ratio of gamma functions.

The article represents the elementary and general introduction of some characterizations of the extended gamma and beta Functions and their important properties with various representations. This paper provides reviews of some of the new proposals to extend the form of basic functions and some closed-form representation of more integral functions is described. Some of the relative behaviors of the extended function, the special cases resulting from them when fixing the parameters, the decomposition equation, the integrative representation of the proposed general formula, the correlations related to the proposed formula, the frequency relationships, and the differentiation equation for these basic functions were investigated. We also investigated the asymptotic behavior of some special cases, known formulas, the basic decomposition equation, integral representations, convolutions, recurrence relations, and differentiation formula for these target functions by studying. Applications of these functions have been presented in the evaluation of some reversible Laplace transforms to the complex of definite integrals and the infinite series of related basic functions.

In this paper, we improve the estimate for the products ∏ k = 1 n 4 k − 3 / 4 k and ∏ k = 1 n 4 k − 1 / 4 k , obtained by Cringanu “inequalities associated with ratios of gamma functions.”

We present generalizations of three classical summation formulas 2F1 due to Kummer, which are able to be derived from six known summation formulas of those types. As certain simple particular cases of the summation formulas provided here, we give a number of interesting formulas for double-finite series involving quotients of Gamma functions. We also consider several other applications of these formulas. Certain symmetries occur often in mathematical formulae and identities, both explicitly and implicitly. As an example, as mentioned in Remark 1, evident symmetries are naturally implicated in the treatment of generalized hypergeometric series.

Convex functions play an important role in many areas of mathematics. They are especially important in the study of optimization problems where they are distinguished by a number of convenient properties. In this paper, firstly we introduce the notion of h -exponential convex functions. This notion can be considered as generalizations of many existing definitions of convex functions. Then, we establish some well-known inequalities for the proposed notion via incomplete gamma functions. Precisely speaking, we established trapezoidal, midpoint, and He’s inequalities for h -exponential and harmonically exponential convex functions via incomplete gamma functions. Moreover, we gave several remarks to prove that our results are more generalized than the existing results in the literature.

AbstractIn the present paper, we introduce sharp upper and lower bounds to the ratio of two q-gamma functions ${\Gamma }_{q}(x+1)/{\Gamma }_{q}(x+s)$ Γ q ( x + 1 ) / Γ q ( x + s ) for all real number s and $0< q\neq1$ 0 < q ≠ 1 in terms of the q-digamma function. Our results refine the results of Ismail and Muldoon (Internat. Ser. Numer. Math., vol. 119, pp. 309–323, 1994) and give the answer to the open problem posed by Alzer (Math. Nachr. 222(1):5–14, 2001). Also, for the classical gamma function, our results give a Kershaw inequality for all $0< s<1$ 0 < s < 1 when letting $q\to 1$ q → 1 and a new inequality for all $s>1$ s > 1 .

AbstractThe beta and gamma functions have recently seen several developments and various extensions because of their nice properties and interesting applications. The contribution of this paper falls within this framework. After introducing a generalized gamma function and two generalized beta functions in several variables, we investigate some inequalities involving these generalized functions.
