AbstractRecent literature has addressed initial coin offering (ICO) projects, which are an innovative form of venture financing through cryptocurrencies using blockchain technology. Many features of ICOs remain unexplored, leaving much room for additional research, including the success factors of ICO projects. We investigate the success of ICO projects, with our main purpose being to identify factors that influence a project’s outcome. Following a literature review, from which several potential variables were collected, we used a database comprising 428 ICO projects in the banking/financial sector to regress several econometric models. We confirmed the impacts of several variables and obtained particularly valuable results concerning project and campaign variables. We confirmed the importance of a well-structured and informative whitepaper. The proximity to certain markets with high availability of financial and human capital is also an important determinant of the success of an ICO. We also confirm the strong dependency on cryptocurrency and the impact of cryptocurrency valuations on the success of a project. Furthermore, we confirm the importance of social media in ICO projects, as well as the importance of human capital characteristics. Our research contributes to the ICO literature by capturing most of the success factors previously identified and testing their impacts based on a large database. The current research contributes to the building of systems theory and signaling theory by adapting their frameworks to the ICO environment. Our results are also important for regulators, as ICOs are mainly unregulated and have vast future potential, and for investors, who can benefit from our analysis and use it in their due diligence.

The present paper is devoted to the properties of entire vector-valued functions of bounded L-index in join variables, where L:Cn→R+n is a positive continuous function. For vector-valued functions from this class we prove some propositions describing their local properties. In particular, these functions possess the property that maximum of norm for some partial derivative at a skeleton of polydisc does not exceed norm of the derivative at the center of polydisc multiplied by some constant. The converse proposition is also true if the described inequality is satisfied for derivative in each variable.

Abstract Design of Experiments (DoE) is extensively and routinely used in industry; however, in the last decades, it has been gaining increasing interest in organic synthesis in academia. The use of Chemometrics is an attractive strategy to find the real optimum in chemical reactions, especially when affected by several variables. DoE has been applied in a growing number of synthetic transformations over the years, where it can undoubtedly help in the process optimisation, saving costs and time. This review concisely discusses the chemometric basis of Design of Experiments and highlights several examples in which DoE has been applied in organic synthesis. Research on the relationship between microclimate and heritage buildings or historic buildings has increased dramatically in the last few decades. Research has focused on indoor climate or indoor microclimate or the environment or micro-environment, and the field of these studies regards several variables, physical—air temperature, air speed, relative humidity—or chemical, dust, CO2, pollution, etc., all of which can have an effect or damage buildings or artifacts inside buildings. Moreover, all these variables should be monitored in a monitoring campaign following the standard EN 15757; in spite of this, scientific literature contains mistakes with regard to the words and objects of study. In this short contribution, the author proposes a common nomenclature in the research field of climate and microclimate in heritage buildings and heritage artifacts. A new nomenclature should be useful for the community of heritage scientists working on preventive measures to distinguish between climate and environment, or the object of study, e.g., the room (wall, wood structure, fresco, etc.) where the artifacts are or the air around them (painting, canvas, statue, piece of furniture, documents, books, etc.).

AbstractIn this paper, some special mappings of several variables such as the multicubic and the multimixed quadratic–cubic mappings are introduced. Then, the systems of equations defining a multicubic and a multimixed quadratic–cubic mapping are unified to a single equation. Under some mild conditions, it is shown that a multimixed quadratic–cubic mapping can be multiquadratic, multicubic and multiquadratic–cubic. Furthermore, by applying a known fixed-point theorem, the Hyers–Ulam stability of multimixed quadratic–cubic, multiquadratic, multicubic and multiquadratic–cubic are studied in non-Archimedean normed spaces.

Studies that allow the understanding of the nutrient cycling processes and maintenance of soil fertility in the caatinga biome are necessary to assist in the proposal of possible management forms, in view of the sustainability of this ecosystem, to provide data in an area of knowledge the quantification of glomalin can be a good indicator of changes caused by the use of the soil and, in turn, therefore, it can become a good indicator of its recovery because it is correlated with important attributes of the soil. In addition to providing data of this process for a better understanding of the soils of the country, a study on this subject will also contribute with a new database for global monitoring. Research that can follow the regeneration rate of Caatinga forests in the Semi-arid will allow the development of models relating to several variables, not currently available for the semi-arid tropical region.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect on learning of incorporating the traditional game of Hide and Seek. This type of research employs a mixed-methods. This study used several variables as research categories, including response, peace-loving character, and patriotism, and enrolled a total of 44 students. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used in the data analysis. The integration took place at an Elementary School and a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Batang Hari, as evidenced by the response, which reflected the peace-loving nature of patriotism. The result is that each response variable, peace, love, and patriotism, has a significant effect, with a value of sig 0.05, and that each variable is dominant in the good category.

Treatment for sicknesses in healthcare is a crucial determinant to improve health. In Indonesia, the unmet need for healthcare is common for people in the lower economic group. This study aims to examine how food insecurity affects outpatient care using the indicators of food insecurity to highlight individuals with high health risks and experiencing problems with limited resources. The data used in this study consisted of 159,236 individuals representing different age ranges from the 2017 National Socio-Economic Survey (SUSENAS) and the 2018 Village Potential Census (PODES). Data were analyzed using ivprobit to address bias due to the endogeneity in the food insecurity variables. The results indicate that a higher food insecurity score will increase the chances of not accessing modern healthcare for outpatient care when sick. Several variables like sex, types of residence, number of household members living together, access to healthcare, health insurance, social protection, and illness characteristic were also found to influence individual behavior in not utilizing modern healthcare for outpatient care. This study suggests that policymakers should pay attention to the utilization of modern healthcare, especially for outpatient care in groups experiencing food insecurity.
