Abstract Background Cryopreservation of human spermatozoa has been identified as an efficient procedure to preserve fertility in men before any cancer therapy or surgical infertility treatment. Despite the benefits of the procedure, the deleterious effects of cryopreservation have been proven on sperm structure and function. This study aimed to evaluate seminal plasma effects on human sperm characteristics after cryopreservation, and compare the addition of normozoospermic and oligozoospermic seminal plasma in the prepared oligozoospermic samples. Semen samples were collected from fifty-five oligozoospermic men and the twenty fertile individuals who referred to the infertility center. At first, a semen analysis was carried out on each neat ejaculate, and then some were cryopreserved. The remainder of the semen was divided into two, one for seminal plasma removal and the other for sperm preparation. Then, the prepared spermatozoa were cryopreserved in three groups: one with, and another without the addition of oligozoospermic seminal plasma, and still another with the addition of normal seminal plasma. After thawing, sperm DNA integrity, viability, motility, and morphology were determined. Results The percentages of all parameters were significantly lower after cryopreservation in all groups compared to the fresh sample. However, this reduction was lower in the oligozoospermic samples cryopreserved with normal seminal plasma. Conclusion The results indicated that seminal plasma in oligozoospermic patients could not support sperm against cryo-injuries, an indication likely due to insufficient antioxidants and other protective components in oligozoospermic patients. However, normal seminal plasma could slightly preserve sperm characteristics after cryopreservation in oligozoospermic patients.

Here we study particle motion in the specific Lorentzian wormhole spacetime characterized, in addition to the total mass M, with the dimensionless parameter λ. In particular we calculate the radius of the innermost stable circular orbit (ISCO) for test particles and the photonsphere for massless particles. We show that the effect of the dimensionless wormhole parameter decreases the ISCO radius and the radius of the photon orbit. Then, we study plasma effects on gravitational weak lensing in wormhole spacetime and obtain the deflection angle of the light. We show that the effect of λ decreases the deflection angle. We study the effects of uniform and non-uniform plasma on the light deflection angle separately, and show that the uniform plasma causes the deflection angle to be smaller in contrast to the non-uniform plasma.

The paper considers the study results of the phase composition and microhardness of detonation coatings based on Ti-Si-C after exposure to pulsed plasma treatment. The CCDS2000 detonation complex was used to obtain the coatings. Coatings surface modification was carried out using pulsed plasma exposure (PPE). The detonation coatings were treated with varying the distance H (30 mm mode 1, 40 mm mode 2, 50 mm mode 3) from the plasmatron to the hardened surface. It is shown that the treated coatings are generally characterized by high microhardness compared to the original coating. It was determined that after treatment by pulsed plasma effects an increase in the intensity of all reflexes phase Ti3SiC2 was observed, and the appearance of reflexes (101, 102, 112, 204, 0016) phase Ti3SiC2 was found, which indicates the increase of the content of Ti3SiC2 phase. The change in the fraction of phases indicates a solid-phase transformation during pulsed-plasma activation. High hardness is observed on the coating surface treated according to mode 3 (50 mm) and as it approaches the surface of the substrate modes 2 (40 mm) and 1 (30 mm) the hardness decreases. It is established that the increase in the microhardness of detonation coatings after pulse-plasma treatment is associated with an increase in the content of Ti3SiC2 phases in the coatings, as well as an increase in the defects density in the modified layer.

AbstractThis paper is devoted to study weak gravitational lensing properties around black hole surrounded plasma medium in modified gravity (MOG). We have investigated the effects of the MOG-parametr and plasma medium on the deflection angle and total magnification of the images. we have presented the comparisons of the effects of the uniform plasma, singular isothermal sphere and non-singular isothermal sphere. We have also shown that the uniform plasma effects significantly stronger than the other models of plasma medium.Through the studies of the total magnifications of images of a remote source we have shown that the effects of the MOG parameter and plasma medium are similar and the increase of the MOG parameter and plasma frequency cause to increase the total magnification. Moreover, we have explored and analyzed how the MOG effects can reflect the plasma medium providing the same values of the total magnification of images.
