Infantile haemangiomas (IH) or Strawberry naevi as were previously called are common neoplasms of childhood. The tendency to spontaneously involute differentiates this tumour from other vascular neoplasms. Though many treatment modalities have been described with advances in understanding of tumour pathology, it has been consistently found that minimal intervention under watchful observation offers the best chance of getting the best result in the long term. Though parents are extremely nervous, seeing the grotesque nature of these tumours, patient, firm counselling and reassurance is all that is required in most cases for successful management.

Purpose: We aimed to present our laparoscopic cystectomy experience and demonstrate that it is a feasible technique with safe oncologic principles. Methods: Total 19 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical cystectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection (PLND) in our urology clinic (Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital) were retrospectively evaluated. Demographic data, operation technique and complications, tumour pathology and follow-up details of patients were recorded. Results: Patients ranged from 40 to 73 years, with the average age of 60.8 and female/male rate was 2/17. The mean total operation time was 375 min (range 260–500). Mean hospitalisation time of patients was 10.3 days. The mean follow-up time was 11.2 months. Conclusion: Minimally invasive approaches in urology are becoming the first line treatment by the time. Due to the high costs and limited availability, robotic surgery is still not exactly widespread in the world. Our series showed that conventional laparoscopic cystectomy is an appropriate approach until robotic surgery becomes widespread.

The Good’s syndrome (GS) is a low prevalence entity where thymoma often is associated with immunodeficiency. Patients may start presenting recurrent rhinosinusal infections, bronchopulmonary infections, haematological alterations and diarrhoea, secondary to immunodeficiency. They can also present respiratory symptoms and parathymic syndromes derived from the existence of thymoma, a slow-growing neoplasm located in the anterior mediastinum. We present the case of a 76-year-old man diagnosed with thymoma by image analysis, which had presented multiple episodes of pneumonia and two admissions to the hospital for diarrhoea of weeks of evolution. After finishing the study, the patient is diagnosed of GS. In this case, thymectomy prevented the appearance of parathymic syndrome, but without any effect on immunodeficiency symptoms. To decrease repeat infections, substitution therapy with immunoglobulins was started. The prognosis will depend mainly on the recurrent infectious and to a lesser extent on the thymic neoplasm.
