The propagation of three-dimensional extremely short optical pulses (light bullets) with a Bessel cross section in a medium of carbon nanotubes placed in an optical resonator is considered. As a result of numerical calculations, it was found that such pulses propagate stably with conservation of energy in a limited region of space, including at large times of the order of 100 ps. Key words: extremely short optical pulses, nonlinear medium, light bullets, carbon nanotubes.

Abstract Analytic estimation of the parameters of light bullets formed in the anomalous group dispersion region of transparent dielectrics under conditions of tunneling photoionization was performed. For this purpose, the system of the ordinary differential equations for the laser pulse’s parameters such as amplitude, temporal duration, chirp parameter, temporal delay, frequency shift, radius and curvature were obtained. The stationary solution of this system and conditions of the quasi-stable regime of propagation were found.

AbstractWe propose the generation of 3D linear light bullets propagating in free space using a single passive nonlocal optical surface. The nonlocal nanophotonics can generate space–time coupling without any need for bulky pulse-shaping and spatial modulation techniques. Our approach provides simultaneous control of various properties of the light bullets, including the external properties such as the group velocity and the propagation distance, and internal degrees of freedom such as the spin angular momentum and the orbital angular momentum.
