In this paper, we consider a class of static spacetimes scalar-torsion theories in four dimensioanal static spacetimes with the scalar potential turned on. We discover that the 2-dimensional submanifold must admit constant triplet structures, one of which is the torsion scalar. This indicates that these equations of motion can be reduced to a single highly non-linear ordinary differential equation known as the master equation. Then, we show that there are no exact solution of the scalar-torsion theory in four dimensions considering the Sinh-Gordon potential.

AbstractThe shear modulus of pulp fibers is difficult to measure and only very little literature is available on this topic. In this work we are introducing a method to measure this fiber property utilizing a custom built instrument. From the geometry of the fiber cross section, the fiber twisting angle and the applied torque, the shear modulus is derived by de Saint Venant’s theory of torsion. The deformation of the fiber is applied by a moving coil mechanism. The support of the rotating part consists of taut bands, making it nearly frictionless, which allows easy control of the torque to twist the fiber. A permanent magnet moving coil meter was fitted with a sample holder for fibers and torque references. Measurements on fine metal bands were performed to validate the instrument. The irregular shape of the fibers was reconstructed from several microtome cuts and an apparent torsion constant was computed by applying de Saint Venant’s torsion theory. Fibers from two types of industrial pulp were measured: thermomechanical pulp (TMP) and Kraft pulp. The average shear modulus was determined as (2.13 $${\pm }$$ ± 0.36) GPa for TMP and (2.51 $${\pm }$$ ± 0.50) GPa for Kraft fibers, respectively. The TMP fibers showed a smaller shear modulus but, due to their less collapsed state, a higher torsional rigidity than the kraft fibers.

AbstractIn this present paper, a slowly rotating stat is investigated in shift symmetric scalar torsion theory framework using a nondiagonal tetrad that gives an axially symmetric spacetime. We present the general equations for a general Lagrangian in a spherical symmetric space time and then in an axially symmetric spacetime. The obtained equations will allow us to study the behaviour of a specific model at the center of the star and at large distance. We find that this particular model affects the behaviour at the center but it is not case for large value of the radial coordinate r. The integration of the equations of motion, for different realistic equations of state (EoS), confirms that the mass, the radius as well as the moment of inertia are effected by varying the parameters of the model. Finally, we examine the universal relation of normalized moment of inertia and the stellar compactness of neutron star in slow rotation approximation. We showed that for all values of parameters present in the model leads to a deviation from GR for all EoS with a relative deviation below $$10\%$$ 10 % .

Let R be a ring, τ=T,ℱ a hereditary torsion theory of mod-R, and n a positive integer. Then, R is called right τ-n-coherent if every n-presented right R-module is τ,n+1-presented. We present some characterizations of right τ-n-coherent rings, as corollaries, and some characterizations of right n-coherent rings and right τ-coherent rings are obtained.
