A comfortable childbirth is the dream of mothers. Faster delivery progress can lead to quality midwifery care. Birth ball is a tool that can be used by mothers to position the pelvis properly, especially applied the pelvic rocking technique. This review study aimed to evaluate the evidence regarding the effect of using birth ball with pelvic rocking in duration of labor in kala I active phase. This study followed a quasi experimental research design with posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 12 treatment people dan 12 controls with the purposive sampling.Partograph was measured duration of labor in kala I active phase. The difference in duration of labor for the treatment and control group were tested with Mann Whitney. There was a difference in the effect of  using a birth ball with pelvic rocking technique in length of labor in kala I active phase in the treatment and control groups with p-value 0.001. The use of birth ball with pelvic rocking technique is evidence to speed the duration of labor in kala I active phase. Birth ball with pelvic rocking are recommended to be use an alternative to speed the duration of labor in kala I active phase in midwifery services

This study aimed to validate measures of sedentary time in individuals with Rett syndrome. Twenty-six individuals (median [IQR] age 16.0 (9.4-20.6) years) wore an activPAL accelerometer during video-taped activities and agreement was determined between sedentary time determined by the activPAL and observation. For 11 individuals (median [IQR] age 14.5 (11.5-25.6) years), linear regression was used to determine the relationship between sedentary time recorded on the modified Bouchard activity record diary card and measured using the activPAL. In comparison to observation, the activPAL accurately measured duration of sedentary time with a mean difference (limit of agreement) of –1.0 (6.3) minutes. The duration of Bouchard activity record downtime accounted for 73% of the variance of sedentary time measured by the activPAL (coefficient 0.762, 95% CI 0.413 to 1.111). These data provide clinicians and caregivers with capacity to investigate strategies that would aim to increase activity in the nonexercise component of the activity continuum.

This study investigates the production of vowels in unstressed syllables by advanced German learners of English in comparison with native speakers of Standard Southern British English. Two acoustic properties were measured: duration and formant structure. The results indicate that duration of unstressed vowels is similar in the two groups, though there is some variation depending on the phonetic context. In terms of formant structure, learners produce slightly higher F1 and considerably lower F2, the difference in F2 being statistically significant for each learner. Formant values varied as a function of context and orthographic representation of the vowel.

Electronic apparatus has been developed to determine the rate of decay of the 16 volt levels of neon after the interruption of an electrical discharge, by measurement of the absorption of a monochromatic light beam. The half life of the 3P2 metastable level has been determined as a function of pressure and discharge tube diameter. The 3P0 and 3P1 levels exhibit a pronounced departure from an exponential decay. The hypothesis of the imprisonment of resonance radiation is consistent with the measured duration of the 1P1 and 3P1 levels.

Since the date of the 1935 Paris meeting two total eclipses have been successfully observed. Throughout the long path crossing Siberia and Japan the weather on June 19, 1936 on the whole about lived up to predictions. On account of widely scattered clouds neighbouring expeditions had quite different luck with the weather. In contrast, the June 8, 1937 eclipse was seen throughout the whole track under universally clear skies, which is all the more surprising for the reason that eclipse expeditions to the tropics usually fare badly with the weather. Stewart and Stokley in a ship at sea were able to observe the eclipse with a measured duration of 7 min. 6 sec., the longest period of totality in 1200 years.
