The 2010 – 2011 floods in Namibia caused widespread damages over seven regions in the country. Some 200 000 people were displaced with a death toll of over 90 being recorded. The President of the Republic declared a state of emergency at the end of March 2011, and various national and international partners responded in diverse manners to the call for assistance and collaboration in addressing flood management issues. UNESCO also responded to the call by sending a team of hydrologists on an exploratory mission to determine areas in which UNESCO can further collaborate with Namibia in addressing flood management. The team visited Namibia in July 2011, and presented its initial findings to the Prime Minister on 29 July 2011. Capacity-building Flood

Things were getting busy on the major flight corridors between the Earth and Mars, or so the casual observer of socialist bloc science fiction from the 1950s might come to believe. While there are no reports of intergalactic traffic jams, Mars was becoming a destination of choice in science fiction from both sides of the Iron Curtain. In her fascinating article, Dafna Zur details the exploits of an international exploratory mission to the red planet, consisting of children from a dozen nations, including North Korea, China, and the Soviet Union. It remains unknown whether the explorers from Kim Tong Sŏp's serialized novel Youth Space Expedition Team met any other socialist space travelers on their way to Mars. But they could have very well run into spaceship #1, commanded by Zhenzhen, the protagonist of Zheng Wenguang's (1929–2003) “Cong diqiu dao huoxing” (From the Earth to Mars) (Zheng 1954a).

Having lived in Paris starting in the summer of 1919 at the latest, Nguyễn Ái Quốc committed himself to the struggle against colonization and joined forces with all those with allied objectives who could support his cause before drawing nearer to the French Communist Party in 1920. During the course of 1921, he learned of a group of French Protestants who hoped to undertake an exploratory mission in Indochina. In the letter that he addresses to the pastor pioneering the project, Nguyễn Ái Quốc clearly exposes the contradictions of a process that is doubtlessly laudable yet still quite contrary in nature, since evangelization was an accomplice to colonization. These research notes present an unpublished document that throws light on the intellectual development of the future Hồ Chí Minh on the numerous origins of Vietnamese Protestantism, and on the debates about colonization and evangelization occurring within French Protestantism.

After the optimization, obtains the circuit structure will often stem from our anticipation, this will be the altitude which the experience and the skillful institute hope to attain with difficulty. In view of the Xilinx Company's FPGA unique feature, proposed one kind of evolutionary algorithms which uses in the space electronic system circuit optimization design and through the experiment proved, the algorithm obtains the circuit structure to surpass the tradition circuit design method. This work investigates the application of genetic algorithms in the field of circuit optimization. For the case studies, this means has proved to be efficient and the experiment results show that the new means have got the better results.

ABSTRACT Life for Africa is an international cooperation program that was developed by Matres Mundi International. It aims to improve the critical situation of maternal and infant health in Africa by improving the number and training of health professionals, particularly in the area of the maternal and infant health. The program, which is sponsored by the majority of the international societies of perinatal medicine (the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine, the World Association of Perinatal Medicine, etc.), consists of the creation of an International School of Perinatal Medicine for Africa and a Reference Hospital for Mothers and Children in Addis Abeba, capital of the African Union. This paper will discuss the reasons in favor of this project and will describe the details and the current situation. It will also provide information about the ‘exploratory mission’ that several members of Matres Mundi and the international societies made to Addis Abeba.
