The charmonium-like exotic states Y(4230) and the less known Y(4320), produced in e+e− collisions, are sources of positive parity exotic hadrons in association with photons or pseudoscalar mesons. We analyze the radiative and pion decay channels in the compact tetraquark scheme, with a method that proves to work equally well in the most studied D∗→γ/π+D decays. The decay of the vector Y into a pion and a Zc state requires a flip of charge conjugation and isospin that is described appropriately in the formalism used. Rates are found to depend on the fifth power of pion momentum, which would make the final states πZc(4020) strongly suppressed with respect to πZc(3900). The agreement with BES III data would be improved considering the πZc(4020) events to be fed by the tail of the Y(4320) resonance under the Y(4230). These results should renovate the interest in further clarifying the emerging experimental picture in this mass region.

Assuming neutrinos to be of the Dirac type, the little group generators for the one-particle states, created off the vacuum by the field operator, are obtained, both in terms of the one-particle states themselves and in terms of creation/annihilation operators. It is shown that these generators act also as rotation operators in the Hilbert space of the states, providing three types of transformations: a helicity flip, the standard charge conjugation, and a combination of the two, up to phases. The transformations’ properties are provided in detail and their physical implications discussed. It is also shown that one of the transformations continues to hold for chiral fields without mixing them. It is argued that these results provide support for the Majorana nature of massive neutrinos.

We developed the theory of superalgebraic spinors, which is based on the use of Grassmann densities and derivatives with respect to them in a pseudo-continuous space of momenta. The algebra that they form corresponds to the algebra of second quantization of fermions. We have constructed a vacuum state vector and have shown that it is symmetric with respect to $P$, $CT$ and $CPT$ transformations. Operators $C$ and $T$ transforms the vacuum into an alternative one. Therefore, time inversion $T$ and charge conjugation $C$ cannot be exact symmetries of the spinors.

Abstract We apply Hilbert series techniques to the enumeration of operators in the mesonic QCD chiral Lagrangian. Existing Hilbert series technologies for non-linear realizations are extended to incorporate the external fields. The action of charge conjugation is addressed by folding the $$ \mathfrak{su}(n) $$ su n Dynkin diagrams, which we detail in an appendix that can be read separately as it has potential broader applications. New results include the enumeration of anomalous operators appearing in the chiral Lagrangian at order p8, as well as enumeration of CP-even, CP-odd, C-odd, and P-odd terms beginning from order p6. The method is extendable to very high orders, and we present results up to order p16.(The title sequence is the number of independent C-even and P-even operators in the mesonic QCD chiral Lagrangian with three light flavors of quarks, at chiral dimensions p2, p4, p6, …)

The application of the CPT (charge-conjugation, parity, and time reversal) theorem to an apple falling on Earth leads to the description of an anti-apple falling on anti–Earth (not on Earth). On the microscopic level, the Dirac equation in curved space-time simultaneously describes spin-1/2 particles and their antiparticles coupled to the same curved space-time metric (e.g., the metric describing the gravitational field of the Earth). On the macroscopic level, the electromagnetically and gravitationally coupled Dirac equation therefore describes apples and anti-apples, falling on Earth, simultaneously. A particle-to-antiparticle transformation of the gravitationally coupled Dirac equation therefore yields information on the behavior of “anti-apples on Earth”. However, the problem is exacerbated by the fact that the operation of charge conjugation is much more complicated in curved, as opposed to flat, space-time. Our treatment is based on second-quantized field operators and uses the Lagrangian formalism. As an additional helpful result, prerequisite to our calculations, we establish the general form of the Dirac adjoint in curved space-time. On the basis of a theorem, we refute the existence of tiny, but potentially important, particle-antiparticle symmetry breaking terms in which possible existence has been investigated in the literature. Consequences for antimatter gravity experiments are discussed.

AbstractIt has been well established that quantum mechanics (QM) violates Bell inequalities (BI), which are consequences of local realism (LR). Remarkably QM also violates Leggett inequalities (LI), which are consequences of a class of nonlocal realism called crypto-nonlocal realism (CNR). Both LR and CNR assume that measurement outcomes are determined by preexisting objective properties, as well as hidden variables (HV) not considered in QM. We extend CNR and LI to include the case that the measurement settings are not externally fixed, but determined by HV. We derive a new version of LI, which is then shown to be violated by entangled $$B_d$$ B d mesons, if charge–conjugation–parity (CP) symmetry is indirectly violated, as indeed established. The experimental result is quantitatively estimated by using the indirect CP violation parameters, and the maximum of a suitably defined relative violation is about $$2.7\%$$ 2.7 % . Our work implies that particle physics violates CNR. Our LI can also be tested in other systems such as photon polarizations.

We give an algebraic formulation based on Clifford algebras and algebraic spinors for quantum information. In this context, logic gates and concepts such as chirality, charge conjugation, parity and time reversal are introduced and explored in connection with states of qubits. Supersymmetry and M-superalgebra are also analyzed with our formalism. Specifically we use extensively the algebras [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] as well as tensor products of Clifford algebras.
