Metric-related parameters in graph theory have several applications in robotics, navigation, and chemical strata. An important such parameter is the partition dimension of graphs that plays an important role in engineering, computer science, and chemistry. In the context of chemical and pharmaceutical engineering, these parameters are used for unique representation of chemical compounds and their structural analysis. The structure of benzenoid hydrocarbon molecules is represented in the form of caterpillar trees and studied for various attributes including UV absorption spectrum, molecular susceptibility, anisotropy, and heat of atomization. Several classes of trees have been studied for partition dimension; however, in this regard, the advanced variant, the fault-tolerant partition dimension, remains to be explored. In this paper, we computed fault-tolerant partition dimension for homogeneous caterpillars C p ; 1 , C p ; 2 , and C p ; 3 for p ≥ 5 , p ≥ 3 , and p ≥ 4 , respectively, and it is found to be constant. Further numerical examples and an application are furnished to elaborate the accuracy and significance of the work.

The Centrifugal liquid Membrane (CLM) method, which provides an ultra-thin two-phase liquid membrane system in a rotating glass cell, was successfully applied to Green Synthesis from Polyscias scutellaria (PS) capped gold nanoparticles (AuNPs-PS) using a Mangkokan leaf (Polyscias scutellaria) extract as a reducing agent and stabilizer in the hexane-water system. PS extract in hexane fraction as the organic phase has a UV absorption spectrum at the maximum wavelength, λmax of 220 nm, while the precursor of HAuCl4 solution as an aqueous phase has an λmax of 214 nm. Investigation of AuNPs-PS formation was carried out at various concentrations of Mangkokan leaf extract concentration; i.e., 0.001 0.003; 0.005; 0.007 and 0.009%, while the reaction was carried out at various rotational speeds of 5,000-9,000 rpm. The formation and stability of AuNPs-PS were observed from the phenomenon of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and absorbance changes as measured by a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of measurements using CLM-Spectrophotometry shows the formation of AuNPs-PS in the hexane-water system at λmax of 534 nm.

It is important to develop a photostabilization strategy to ensure the quality of photosensitive compounds, including pharmaceuticals. This study focused on the protective effects of 20 amino acids on the photodegradation of naproxen (NX), a photosensitive pharmaceutical, to clarify the important nature of a good photostabilizer. Our previous report indicated the photodegradability of NX and the protective effects of some antioxidants on its photodegradation, therefore, this compound was used as a model compound. The degradation of NX in aqueous media during ultraviolet light (UV) irradiation and the protective effects of selected amino acids were monitored through high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), equipped with a reverse-phase column. Addition of cysteine, tryptophan, and tyrosine induced the significant suppression of NX photodegradation after UV irradiation for 3 h (residual amount of NX; 15.35%, 6.82%, and 15.64%, respectively). Evaluation of the antioxidative activity and UV absorption spectrum showed that cysteine suppressed NX degradation through its antioxidative ability, while tryptophan and tyrosine suppressed it through their UV filtering ability. Furthermore, three amino acids at higher concentrations (more than 100 µmol/L) showed more protective effects on NX photodegradation. For 10 mmol/L, residual amounts of NX with cysteine, tryptophan, and tyrosine were 58.51%, 69.34%, and 82.40%, respectively. These results showed the importance of both photoprotective potencies (antioxidative potency and UV filtering potency) and stability to UV irradiation for a good photostabilizer of photosensitive pharmaceuticals.
