Abstract The article presents the use of video monitoring in a production company on the example of municipal thermal power plant. After analyzing the hazards and work inconvenience occurring in the analyzed enterprise, video surveillance zones have been designated with the division into the indoor and outdoor monitoring system. Video surveillance is provided for production, auxiliary and delivery processes. Moreover, video monitoring performs a control function over the occupation health in workstations at risk of explosion or fire. In addition, observation points have been set up in the visual monitoring system, among which the internal ones are served by the dispatcher responsible for the production process, while the external are operated by security guards of the facility.

With the extensive application of 3D printing (3DP) in smart manufacturing, 4D printing (4DP), which enhances 3D printed objects with shape morphing ability by using smart materials, has shown significant industrial potential and attracted tremendous attention. One key concern of 4DP is how to effectively and quickly meet different production and application requirements considering the complexity of materials and diversity of stimulus methods. In order to provide a general research platform for 4DP researchers, a flexible 4DP service platform is proposed. Components and modules for building 4DP and test systems are modeled and virtualized to form the different resources. These resources are then integrated virtually or physically to provide some basic functions such as a 3D displacement stage or a visual monitoring system. According to different 4DP requirements, these functions are then encapsulated into services to serve different research. The platform enables a variety of 4DP applications in smart manufacturing environments such as 4D printed magnetic medical robots, test platform for studying the 4DP response, etc. A case study on designing a ferromagnetic 4DP platform based on the service platform is performed to prove the feasibility of the method.

Abstract in EnglishHoney bees are valuable bio-indicators. As such, they hold a vast potential to help shed light on the extent and interdependencies of factors influencing the decline in the number of insects. However, to date this potential has not yet been fully leveraged, as the production of reliable data requires large-scale study designs, which are very labour intensive and therefore costly.A novel Artificial Intelligence (AI) based visual monitoring system could enable the partial automatization of data collection on activity, forager loss and impairment of the central nervous system. The possibility to extract features from image data could prospectively also allow an assessment of pollen intake and a differentiation of dead bees, drones and worker bees as well as other insects such as wasps or hornets. The technology was validated in different studies with regards to its scalability and its ability to extract motion and feature related information. The prospective possibilities were analyzed regarding their potential to enable advances both within ecotoxicological research and the monitoring of pollinator habitats.
