Cryptotaenia japonica Hassk., a native species of Eastern Asia, is reported for the first time for the flora of Colombia. This taxon is easily recognized by its ternate leaves, rhombic leaflets, leaf margins irregularly serrate, cymose inflorescences, irregular rays and pedicels, white petals, cylindric stylopodium, erect stiles, and oblong fruits with five ribs. To date, this species has been recorded only in one locality in Cundinamarca department. A neotypification of C. japonica is proposed and keys for the genera of the tribe Oenantheae present in Colombia, and the species of Cryptotaenia s. str., are presented. Additionally, we report for the first time the family Empididae (Diptera) as floral visitor of this species.

Opuntia soederstromiana is recorded in Colombia for the first time. Botanical explorations were carried out in eastern Colombia sub-xerophytic enclaves, as well as examination of specimens deposited at the herbaria AZUAY, COL, GH, NY, QCA, QCNE, UPTC, and US was made. Lectotypes for the names O. dobbieana (here treated as heterotypic synonym of O. soederstromiana) and O. soederstromiana are designated on specimens preserved at US and NY. A detailed and expanded morphological description of O. soederstromiana, as well as data about type, habitat, conservation status, selected iconographies, and distribution area were given. The number of Opuntia species recorded in Colombia has increased to 10. A key for identification of Opuntia species occurring in the departments of Boyacá and Santander (Colombia) was also provided.

Abstract A taxonomic synopsis of Capparaceae distributed in Colombia was carried out reviewing 1,800 botanical specimens from 13 herbaria in Colombia, five international institutions and close to 100 field collected specimens. We found 32 species and ten genera according to the last taxonomic modification proposed for this family. From these species, we reevaluated the conventional features used on the species identification, from which detailed description for each species and taxonomic keys were developed. In addition, geographic distribution maps in Colombia, and information about vernacular names and Neotropical distribution was added.

Collections made in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru provide new data on the geographical distribution of 13 marine fungi of the Ascomycetes and Deuteromycetes. The following species are new records for South America: Chadefaudia corallinarum (on Halimeda); Corollospora marítima, C. trifurcata and Halosphaeria salina (the last 3 spp. as ascospores in sea foam); Keissleriella blepharospora (in Rhizophora); Mycosphaerella pneumatophorae, Rhabdospora avicenniae (both in Avicennia). Conocarpus erectus is a new host for Halosphaeria quadricornuta and Lulworthia sp. The marine fungal flora of Colombia appears to agree with that of Florida and the Atlantic coast of Mexico, containing species typical for tropical and subtropical waters.
