Background: Benign ovarian tumors are a common reason for consultation and intervention in gynecology. The objective of this was to describe the clinical, ultrasonographic, histological and therapeutic aspects of benign ovarian tumors in the department. Methods: This is a retrospective and descriptive study of three years and six months from January 1, 2016, to June 30, 2019, which focused on the records of women-operated during this period of benign ovarian tumors. Results: The incidence of benign ovarian tumors was 12.58%. The circumstances of discovery were dominated by disorders of the menstrual cycle (35.05%) followed by infertility (20.78%), the sensation of a pelvic mass (19.48%), and pelvic pain. (15.58%). Histology revealed serous cystadenoma in 54% of cases, mucinous cystadenoma in 13% of cases, mature poly tissue teratoma in 7% of cases, and endometrial cyst in 3% of cases. Cystectomy was the most performed surgical procedure (71%).Conclusions: Benign ovarian tumors are common in our practice. The most common histological forms were serous and mucinous cystadenomas. Cysts occupying the third ventricle are rare lesions and may appear as an unusual cause of hydrocephalic crisis. A 40-year old woman with headache and one episode of fainting attack was diagnosed with a cystic lesion in the third ventricle after brain MRI study. She was operated with the pre-operative diagnosis of a colloid cyst. A yellowish, thick and mucoid cyst was observed intra-operatively. The total removal of the cyst was done along with the cyst wall. On histopathological evaluation, the cyst wall was lined by ciliated cuboidal to pseudostratified columnar epithelium resting on an eosinophilic basement membrane. The ultrastructural study showed the characteristic 9+2 pattern of cilia. Immunohistochemistry showed positive staining for epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), cytokeratin (CK), and negative staining for Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP). Histopathological and ultrastructural findings confirm the diagnosis of a colloid cyst of third ventricles favoring the endodermal origin of the cyst.

Penile cysts are uncommon lesions. In general, they are asymptomaticand do not interfere with sexual function. Most of themare present since birth, but usually they are only detectable inadolescence or adulthood. We report a rare case of a young adultman with a 5 × 5-cm nodule on the prepuce (ventral face), whichappeared 2 years ago and interfered with his sexual function. Thenodule was excised by circumcision and a histopathologic studywas performed. Histopathologic examination revealed a mucoidcyst of penis with epidermoid metaplasia. No recurrence wasobserved at a 6 months follow-up and the patient’s sexual functionreturned to normal.

ABSTRACT Nasoalveolar cyst is a nonodontogenic, soft tissue cyst characterized by its extraosseous location in the nasal alar region. It is synonymous with nasolabial cyst, nasal vestibule cyst, nasal wing cyst and mucoid cyst of the nose. It also called Klestadt's cyst. In this study, we would like to highlight the clinical presentation and the radiological features of nasolabial cyst in order to assist other healthcare providers in the diagnosis and treatment of this uncommon entity.
