PHYSICAL MODELING OF STEEL HOMOGENIZATION DURING FINISH ALLOYING IN THE MOLD

The article describes the method of finish alloying steel in molds in top and bottom casting. Due to the reduction of oxygen activity in the metal due to the relatively lower casting temperature than the previous stages of steelmaking redistribution, it is achieved the reduction of the ferroalloys loss and increasing the yield of useful elements of ferroalloys. An important indicator of the implementation of the proposed technology is the alloying of steel in the mold to obtain steel of a certain brand in small volumes. The aim of the study is to determine the rational place of addition of alloys into the volume of the melt and the method of casting, for the best dissolution of alloys in steel directly in the mold. To solve this problem, the method of physical modeling on a water transparent model using a fluorescent dye that glows brightly in ultraviolet light was used. The experiment consisted of three series of with different methods of casting and introduction of dye: 1) top casting with the introduction of dye into the mold; 2) bottom casting with the introduction of dye into the mold; 3) bottom casting with the introduction of dye in the trumpet. It was analyzed that the averaging of the dye is more efficient at a lower liquid level in the mold, because mixing occurs due to the flow of liquid in the mold, the higher the liquid level in the mold, the weaker the mixing flows. The research revealed minimization of averaging time at the optimal fluid level. For top and bottom casting with the addition of dye to the mold, the optimal level is 33%. When the dye is introduced into the center, there is a slight directly proportional increase in the time of complete homogenization with an increase in the liquid level in the mold. Among the analyzed methods of steel casting, the most effective in terms of homogenization of the alloying additive is bottom casting. The color of the liquid at different stages of filling the mold with the introduction of the dye at the level of 25% of the height of the mold is analyzed.

MODELING OF MAXIMALLY PARALLEL STRUCTURES OF ALGORITHMS FOR SOLVING THERMAL PROBLEMS

The paper demonstrates the possibility of creating a maximum parallel form of computational algorithms to solve thermal problems and their mapping to the architecture of multiprocessor systems based on solving thermal problems of mathematical physics. It is shown that an effective tool for studying heat and mass transfer problems in metallurgical production could be parallel computing technologies on distributed cluster systems with a relatively low cost and reasonably easily scalable both in the number of processors and in the amount of RAM. Tridiagonal structure systems' parallelization was implemented by a numerical-analytical approach, which predetermined their maximally parallel algorithmic form. That approach is facilitated by the minimum possible implementation time of the developed algorithm on parallel computing systems. Furthermore, during the arithmetic expressions parallel computations, the developed algorithm separates the error in the output data from rounding operations. Thus, the parallelization of tridiagonal systems based on numerical-analytical discretization methods does not impose any restrictions on the topology of the mesh nodes of the computational domain.Furthermore, as applied to the parallel computation of arithmetic expressions, it separates the initial data error from a real PC's rounding operations. That approach eliminates the recurrent structure of computing the sought-for decision vectors, which, as a rule, leads to the round-off errors accumulation. Such a parallel form of the constructed algorithm is maximal and has the shortest possible implementation time of the algorithm on parallel computing systems. The developed approach to parallelizing the mathematical model is stable for various types of input data. It has the most parallel form and is distinguished by the minimum time for solving the problem as applied to multiprocessor computing systems. That is explained as follows. If it is hypothesized that one processor can be assigned to one processor and one processor can be assigned to one node of the computational mesh domain, the computations can be processed in parallel and simultaneously for all nodes of the computational mesh domain. The simulation process was implemented on a PC cluster. It follows from the simulation results analysis that the developed method for solving the heat conduction problem effectively minimizes residuals.

ДОСЛІДЖЕННЯ ПІДШИПНИКІВ РІДИННОГО ТЕРТЯ РОБОЧИХ КЛІТЕЙ 630 СТАНУ 550

Аналіз експлуатації підшипників рідинного тертя (ПРТ) станів 630 показав, що втрати мастила на клітях 630 досягають до 10 тонн за рік. Причиною цього є недосконалість конструкції ущільнення, а це в свою чергу не забезпечує необхідний режим змащування ПРТ і призводить до високоінтенсивного зносу поверхонь втулки та вкладиша підшипника. Що призводить до виходу з ладу ПРТ раніше встановленого строку заміни втулки та вкладиша. Метою дослідження є визначення навантаженості ПРТ шляхом математичного моделювання для визначення енерго-силових параметрів прокатки на прикладі швелеру №14, визначення коефіцієнту тертя, дослідження процесу зносу поверхні втулки та вкладиша ПРТ та надання рекомендації, щодо можливого шляху удосконалення ущільнення ПРТ клітей 630. Розрахунок піддвердив перехід до граничного тертя при зносі до радіального зазору в 4 мм, що спостерігалось при експлуатації ПРТ. Запропонована удосконалена конструкція ущільнень з використанням V-подібних манжет.

ДОСЛІДЖЕННЯ НА ФІЗИЧНІЙ МОДЕЛІ ОСОБЛИВОСТЕЙ ВПЛИВУ ЗАПИЛЕНОСТІ СЕРЕДОВИЩА НА ЯКІСНІ ПОКАЗНИКИ ГАЗОВОГО, ПАЛАЮЧОГО ФАКЕЛУ

Процес кисневого конвертування супроводжується виділенням значного обсягу газів, що містять в основному продукти реакцій окислення вуглецю, які формують палаючий факел над горловиною конвертера. При цьому з конвертера виділяється значна кількість пилу різного складу і фракції в залежності від технологічних особливостей продувки, дослідження і облік впливу якої необхідний для розуміння якісних характеристик факела і конвертерного процесу вцілому. У роботі наведені результати дослідження на фізичної моделі, що імітує палаючий факел в запиленому середовищі, шляхом введення твердих порошків різних речовин, на якісні показники горіння факела: візуальні і теплопередачу. Досліджено подачу в палаючий факел порошків хлориду натрію, оксидів заліза, кремнію та алюмінію, чистих порошків заліза, кремнію та алюмінію, сажі і графіту. Встановлено, що введення різних компонентів в факел з температурою нижче, ніж температура факела, навіть при можливому візуальному збільшенні яскравості характеристик, що зокрема встановлено при введенні хлориду натрію або порошку заліза, сприяють зниженню теплопередачі від факела за рахунок відбору тепла на нагрівання і згоряння частинок, що вводяться.

А.О. Журба ДОСЛІДЖЕННЯ ВПЛИВУ КРИСТАЛІЧНИХ РЕШІТОК НА ФРАКТАЛЬНІ ХАРАКТЕРИСТИКИ МАТЕРІАЛІВ

Значний інтерес представляють кристалічні тіла, які характеризуються впорядкованим розташуванням атомів. До кристалів можна віднести мінерали, всі метали, солі, більшість органічних сполук і велику кількість інших твердих тіл. Закономірна і досконала геометрія кристалів говорить про наявність закономірностей і в їх внутрішній будові. Ці впорядковані структурні частинки, що розташовані правильними рядами в строгій ієрархічній послідовності і мають ось симетрії другого, третього, четвертого і шостого порядків. Строго математично доведено, що відмічені порядки осей в тому або іншому поєднанні для кристалів єдино можливі. Інших порядків осей симетрії, поворот навколо яких переводив би грати кристала самі в себе, в класичній кристалографії не існує. Тому є сенс побудувати поверхні другого, третього, четвертого порядків симетрії та провести аналіз їх фрактальних характеристик. Цікавим дослідженням є побудова фрактальних розподілень таких поверхонь.

ON SOME ASPECTS OF THE STUDY OF PULVERIZED COAL AND FUEL MIXTURES COMBUSTION IN A DROP TUBE FURNACE

The article considers some aspects of the pulverized fuel combustion modelling in the laboratory on installations called vertical tube furnaces (referred to as drop tube furnaces in scientific periodicals). We have considered the scheme of the installation to study the process of pulverized coal (PС) combustion in conditions similar to the conditions of heating and ignition of coal particles in the blast flow of the blast furnace and their subsequent gasification in the raceway. We have formulated the basic requirements for ensuring the reliability of modelling results. We have examined the methods of combustion completeness (burnout) estimation used in similar studies. We have proposed a convenient method for the estimation of the burnout of two-component fuel mixtures. According to this method, the estimation can be performed for any ratio of components in a two-component fuel mixture with the use of data on the initial ash content in each of them and the relevant burnout. We have obtained the estimated data on the dependence of the burnout of PC (anthracite, lean coal) with fuel additives. It has been shown that the proposed approach can be used to evaluate experimental data regarding the study of the combustion completeness of fuel mixtures. It has been established that for the initial stages of PC combustion (heating, emission and ignition of volatile matters), which occur before the fuel particles enter the blast furnace raceway, the fuel mixtures burnout values recorded in the experiments do not differ significantly from the estimated ones. For the final stages of PC combustion (heating and burnout of char), which occur mainly in the raceway and outside, the combustion completeness determined in laboratory studies was significantly higher than the estimated one. The obtained results confirmed the efficiency in the use of drop tube furnace to model the PC combustion process during the fuel injection with the heated blast flow in the blast furnace raceways and study of the influence of various factors on the combustion process. The results of such studies can be used to improve the design of PC injection units in the blast furnace and to study the possibilities for improving the coal particles combustion completeness and the specific consumption of PC.

ВПЛИВ ЕЛЕМЕНТІВ КОНСТРУКЦІЇ ВИЛИВКА НА ЕВОЛЮЦІЮ ТЕХНОЛОГІЧНИХ ДЕФЕКТІВ

Формування властивостей заготовок під час заливання та кристалізації рідкого розплаву вимагає застосування ефективних критеріїв комплексної оцінки деградації матеріалу при формоутворенні виливків. Запропоновано застосувати метод LM-твердості та критерій технологічної пошкоджуваності для аналізу структурних змін при виготовленні литих заготовок, згідно якого визначається схильність матеріалу до формування технологічних дефектів за ступенем розсіювання характеристик твердості матеріалу на етапі конструкторсько-технологічної підготовки виробництва. Показано доцільність використання розробленої методики при аналізі впливу розміщення конструктивних елементів виливка із алюмінієвого сплаву на прогнозування розвитку структурних дефектів і неоднорідностей у матеріалі виробу.

БАНК ДАНИХ «МЕТАЛУРГІЯ» – ІНФОРМАЦІЙНА ОСНОВА ПРОГНОЗУВАННЯ ВЛАСТИВОСТЕЙ ФІЗИКО-ХІМІЧНИХ СИСТЕМ ТА ЇХ РОЗПЛАВІВ

В рамках банку даних «Металургія» створені і постійно розвиваються бази даних «Залізорудні матеріали», «Шлак» і «Феросплави». База даних «Залізорудні матеріали» містить відомості про властивості більше 1200 складів різних видів залізорудної сировини, що включають характеристики міцності і високотемпературні властивості. Описана структура бази експериментальних фізико-хімічних даних про властивості шлакових і оксидних розплавів «Шлак». Розроблено програмні засоби для числової ідентифікації і генерації потрійних діаграм для різних оксидних систем. База даних «Феросплави», включає інформацію про виробництво, хімічний склад і вимоги, що пред'являються до феросплавів різних груп. Дані баз даних використовуються при розробці моделей для прогнозування фізико-хімічних властивостей оксидних і металевих систем, а також в якості вихідних параметрів при математичному, фізико-хімічному та фізичному методах моделювання процесів, що протікають при взаємодії в системі «метал-шлак».

МОДЕЛЮВАННЯ ПРОЦЕСУ ДЕЗІНТЕГРАЦІЇ РУДНОЇ ПОРОДИ В БАРАБАННОМУ МЛИНІ З ВИКОРИСТАННЯМ МЕТОДУ СКІНЧЕНИХ ЕЛЕМЕНТІВ

Розглянуто особливості руху рудних матеріалів в барабанному млині. Розроблено математичну модель процесу подрібнення рудних матеріалів з позиції балансу енергетичних величин процесу руйнування За використанням методу скінчених елементів показано, що виділений в будь-якому місці елемент завантаження піддається деформації з боку сусідніх елементів завантаження (шматків руди) в умовах всебічного нерівнокомпонентного стиснення контактними силами. Проаналізовано вплив напрямку сил контактного тертя при стисненні на ефективність руйнування рудної маси Данні сили суттєво впливають на появу максимальних зсувних (дотичних) напружень, які залежать від максимальних нормальних напружень, що виникають в шматках рудної породи Показана можливість керування режимами навантаження для підвищення ефективності процесу подрібнення.

STUDY OF THE DESIGNS OF BOTTOM BLOWING DEVICES FOR OXIDATIVE BLOWING IN TEEMING LADLES

It is discussed in the article the concept proposed for the production of ultra-low carbon steel, which involves the production of crude steel in basic oxygen furnace followed by oxidative blowing with an oxygen-argon mixture in a teeming ladle to decrease a carbon content in steel to less than 0.03%. High efficiency of the proposed technology is possible only under the intensive process of metal decarburization, which consists of the three stages: supply of reagents to the gas bubble, chemical interaction of reagents on the interfacial surface and removal of reaction products. At low carbon concentrations in the metal, the limiting link of the process is carbon mass transfer to the interfacial surface, which can be intensified by melt stirring. The objective of this article is to study the influence of design of the blowing devices, namely, the position and shape of the pores, on the efficiency of metal homogenization in the teeming ladle. Blowing devices with a circular hole, a slit and undirectional porosity were considered. To perform physical simulation by Buckingham's theorem, similarity numbers were chosen to describe the considered process. In particular, it is proposed to use dimensionless volume flow and a modified homochronicity number. Based on the physical simulation on the “water” model, it was found that the best results of homogenization of the chemical composition of the liquid metal in the teeming ladle show blowing devices with undirected porosity. They are ideal for oxidative purging in a crowded ladle with a mixture of argon and oxygen required for the production of ultra-low carbon steel with an oxygen content of less than 0.03%. The purpose of further research is to develop the design of the mixing chamber of the purge device, in which oxygen and argon are pre-mixed before injection into the liquid metal.
