SPECIAL POINTS ABOUT CLASSIFICATION OF ARBOVIRUSES11Due to the nature of this communication work done with many viruses must be mentioned with no possibility of giving all the references to published material or of acknowledging personal communications; to do this would undoubtedly represent hundreds of entries in the reference list. A not inconsiderable part of the data still not available in the literature derive from two sources, none of which can be regarded as true references: 1, the Annual Reports of the Rockefeller Foundation Virus Laboratories, New York, now Yale Arbovirus Research Unit — W.H.O. World Reference Centre, Dr. W. G. Downs, Director, New Haven; and 2, a Catalogue of Arthropod-borne Viruses, edited by Drs. R. M. Taylor, R. E. Shope and T. H. Work. Errors committed in quoting these sources or liberties taken in the interpretation of the data should be blamed on this writer, not on the original workers.
