The study aims to measure the enhancing of character of Indonesian golden generation on the implementation of education for sustainable development. The data were collected by using the character self-assessment that given to senior high school students in nine provinces spread in the western, central and eastern regions of Indonesia. The instrument was adapted from character education indicators by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and the combination of sustainable development learning indicators. The result shows that mostly the character aspects of Indonesian golden generation can be concluded is enhance. ESD character model can enhance several character of students but still need more time to enhance student’s critical attitude and creativity. Besides, according to the result, it can inferred that implementation of education for sustainable development in science education, biology, physics, and chemistry subject can be recommended by using several learning models and one of them is ESD Character Model.

This article elaborates on the implementation of character-based science education at the Institute of Parahikma Indonesia (IPI) Gowa. The results of this qualitative research indicate that the implementation of character education based on the science of wisdom at the Institute of Parahikma Indonesia (IPI) Gowa is always associated with the five pillars of development, which initially has been preceded by the strengthening of students' understanding of the nature of creation itself on earth. Problems encounter includes three aspects, in this case, the science of wisdom that has not been socialised widely, the understanding of lecturers who have not maximized, and the limitations of students in understanding the effects of several factors. The solution then is to intensify the integration of the science of wisdom on the five pillars of development in a civilized, intelligent, and thriving shrine.

The present article addresses the necessity for entrenching characters, morals, values, and ethical education in science teaching and science education. It explains the argument and rationale, and buttresses ethics, values, and nurturing of morals in students through a modified curriculum science education and describes their benefits to humanity. Additionally, the study discusses the rapidness of technological advancements, science, and globalization that are influencing the complications of human social life and underpinning the level of values, ethics, and morality in education and teaching sciences. Analyses and syntheses are presented to the pedagogical and philosophical questions related to the above-mentioned themes, as it may assist in conceptualizing and uttering a solid theoretical outline for the enhancement of school curricula. A proportional analysis in view of the philosophical, the collective Islamic moral education and values and hypothetical foundation of contemporary Western ethical education is outlined to generate and extend maximum academic benefits and to establish a supplemented theoretical background of character education and moral which may contribute to global acceptability of the character education and moral theoretical framework in Western.
