Taking a typical rural building as an example, the paper compares various factors that affect the heat load of the building, studies related literature and the living habits of rural residents, and suggests that the calculated temperature of the heating room in rural residential buildings in cold areas in winter is 14~17?C. Analyze and compare the initial investment and the investment pay-back period after the thermal insulation measures are adopted for each envelope structure. With the dual goals of energy conservation and economy, it is recommended that rural households with different economic conditions adopt different thermal insulation measures to provide clean heating in rural areas in the cold north. Provide strong technical guidance for energy conservation and emission reduction.

This paper briefly introduces the main properties and four systems of rigid polyurethane thermal insulation foam intended for use in buildings for energy conservation purposes, and application development at home and abroad. Although the applications of polyurethane are widespread in architectural energy conservation, there are some problems just as high price, smoke toxicity, fire safety and so on thus it still occupies a small proportion in buildings for energy conservation purposes. It is no doubt that the function with high efficiency of thermal insulation, fireproof and low smoke density of rigid polyurethane foam conservation products is our goal.

External wall has great impact on building energy conservation. Developing composite wall is direct way to improve the situation of building consumption. In this study, the importance of building energy conservation was analyzed. Several types of composite thermal insulation wall were listed and their advantages and disadvantages were discussed. Self-insulation composite wall has unique superiority, especially in hot summer and cold winter zone. Meanwhile, the application prospect of composite wall with combinations of insulation coating of high reflectivity and silt sintered porous brick was introduced. Finally, combining regional character, some suggestions were proposed on the further development of China’s composite wall in hot summer and cold winter zone.

Analysis of Chinese current development status of wall insulation technology, aim at the importance of building energy conservation in cold areas. Point out that developing energy-saving building wall is the key to development of building energy saving. In this paper, put a kind of an advanced self-thermal insulation walls as an example in Changchun area. Adopt Tsinghua university’s building thermal environmental simulation software DeST-c. Modeling analysis of building’s heating air conditioner operation consumption in the whole year under three different kinds of walls. Through the comparison we know that the structure adopting new self-thermal insulation wall has the most remarkable energy saving effect.

By taking a teaching building of one university in Beijing as an example, this paper calculated the heat loss owing to long time opening window of classrooms in winter and compared the heat loss to the heat which is saved by external thermal insulation of exterior wall of the teaching building through method of air changes. The paper aims at enhancing people's awareness on energy saving and improving “Behavior Energy Conservation” to the same status of "Technology Energy Conservation".
