Building Your Private Cloud Storage on Public Cloud Service Using Embedded GPUs

The Cloud substitutes a computing criterion where shared configurable resources are afforded as an on-demand service over the Internet. Moreover, the cloud environment provides resources to the users on the basis of services like SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. Generally, a cloud can be referred as private cloud or public cloud. When a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) imposes upon public cloud resources to compile their private cloud, the result is demonstrated as a virtual private cloud. Private or public, the imperious intent of cloud computing is to provide simplistic, reliable usage of various computing resources. One of the significant features of cloud is that the outsourced data are accessed through any anonymous machines over the Internet. On the other hand, it creates an issue that user’s fear of unknown access of data, which can become a major difficulty to the wide implementation of cloud. In this paper, a decentralized accountability framework is developed to monitor the actual usage and access of the data that is shared on cloud. For that, a logging mechanism that includes authentication for each user to access the data has also been provided. Moreover, some procedures for providing the data under the control of data owner includes Integrity Checking Mechanism (ICM) have also been developed. The overall process strengthens the security constraints over cloud. And the experimental results reveal that the approach affords secure and scalable data sharing with reduced memory utilization and processing time

Cloud computing is an evolving computing technology that provides many services such as software and storage. With the introduction of cloud storage, the security of outsourced data has become a major issue in cloud computing. Data storage in cloud computing environment needs to be secured in order to provide a safe and foolproof security for data outsourcing of the cloud service users. This paper presents a model for security of data in public cloud storage environment which successfully detects the unauthenticated access or any anomaly in the data. The proposed authentication model along with the data security model presented in this paper shows that this model is the best model suitable for securing the data in cloud computing environment

The paper presents a hybrid cloud service provisioning and selection optimization scheme, and proposes a hybrid cloud model which consists of hybrid cloud users, private cloud and public cloud. This scheme aims to effectively provide cloud service and allocate cloud resources, such that the system utility can be maximized subject to public cloud resource constraints and hybrid cloud users constraints. The paper makes use of a utility-driven approach to solve interaction among private cloud user, hybrid cloud service provider and public cloud provider in hybrid cloud environment. The paper presents hybrid cloud service provisioning and selection algorithm in hybrid cloud. The hybrid cloud market consists of hybrid cloud user agent, hybrid cloud service agent and hybrid cloud agent, which represent the interests of different roles. The experiments are designed to compare the performance of proposed algorithm with the other related work.

Small Office Home office atau SOHO adalah sebutan bagi sebuah entitas bisnis berukuran kecil dengan jumlah karyawan tidak lebih dari sepuluh orang. Sebuah soho umumnya merupakan berupa bisnis rintisan yang memiliki keterbatasan dalam pendanaan untuk pengadaan media penyimpanan terpusat. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut SOHO biasanya menggunakan layanan komputasi awan yaitu public cloud storage yang dimana akan digunakan sebuah server virtual dari penyedia layanan sebagai tempat pencadangan data kantor. Namun pada layanan public cloud storage pemilik bisnis tidak mendapat jaminan secara konkret jika data yang tersimpan pada server penyedia layanan tidak dapat dilihat oleh pihak dari luar kantor. Oleh karena itu peneliti berencana membuat sebuah private cloud storage menggunakan perangkat Raspberry PI 3B+ yang berukuran ringkas sehingga mudah disimpan, dan bersifat eksklusif hanya untuk individu di dalam entitas bisnis. Purwarupa ini diharapkan dapat memenuhi kebutuhan sebuah Small Office Home Office akan penyimpanan terpusat yang handal, aman, dan praktis dalam penerapannya. Pengembangan perangkat menggunakan metode purwarupa, spesifikasi Raspberry Pi yang digunakan masuk dalam golongan low-budget server. Penelitian diawali dengan menganalisa kebutuhan SOHO, lalu dilanjutkan dengan mendesain purwarupa seperti penggunaan kustomisasi yang diperlukan perangkat dan penerapan pada kondisi riil untuk diujikan kembali. Pengujian dilakukan untuk mengukur kecepatan dan membandingkan kecepatan transfer hasil pengujian dengan estimasi kecepatan yang dibutuhkan untuk layanan cloud computing pada SOHO. Private cloud storage pada penelitian ini menunjukan hasil bahwa transfer data belum optimal memenuhi kebutuhan penyimpanan terpusat dengan 10 user dan 2 akses ISP.

CloudStack is an Apache open source software that designed to install and handle large virtual machine (VM) networks, designed by Cloud.com and Citrix. This application is written in Java and was released under the terms of Apache License 2.0. This chapter discusses the easy availability and effortless scalability of CloudStack, which is an Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud computing platform software. We explore how CloudStack can either be used to setup public cloud services, or to provide a private cloud service.

In this paper, a generic comparison between the Enterprise Public and Private Cloud is analyzed based on its features and service provided. Cloud computing technology is widely adopted in today's industry where large database applications are deployed. Every organization moving towards cloud will have to consider many factors such as security, portability, database size, platform independence, multi-tenancy, customer requirements and other related resources. The detailed study focuses on essential cloud characteristics, service models, and cloud operation models such as Integrated (Hybrid), Public, Internal (Private) and Community clouds. The outcome is an effective assessment of leading two Enterprise cloud technology service providers – ownCloud© and HP Public Cloud® and its implications on the organizations which used them for cloud based applications. ownCloud© is the preferred open source file system for organizations to access for solutions across the world. HP Cloud offered by Hewlett-Packard (HP) provides public, private, hybrid and community cloud based services for various enterprise and other large-scale business organizations. Both the Private Cloud and Public Cloud can be enhanced to protect the data from intrusion with various security features where multiple users share the same cloud for storing and retrieving data
