Purpose – Peer instruction has been widely adopted as an instructional method in higher education. However, due to students' different preconceptions, the authors argued that peer instruction is not a panacea in international business education when students' prior knowledge extensively varies. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – In this experimental study, the authors focused on three conditions of an introductory statistics course: individual problem solving, peer instruction, and peer instruction with hints. Findings – The authors have found students in peer instruction with hints class did not only outperform in the final exam, but also achieved the highest frequency of successful conceptual changes in comparison with their counterparts in the other two classes. Practical implications – Providing instructional hints to improve the effectiveness of peer instruction may shed light on classroom instruction in higher education. Originality/value – As for international business education, this was a unique exploration to capture students' conceptual changes using clickers. The authors believed this research paper will help the education practitioners to know their business students better.

The implementation of Kaizen had widely been adopted in many organizations. Higher Education Institutions (HEI) is one of the organizations that there is no exception in practicing Kaizen to enhance the continuous improvement in their education institution performance. The objective of this study is to identify the Kaizen practices among accounting students and lecturers in Azman Hashim International Business School. The researcher will use a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to obtain data from respondents. The researcher concludes that Kaizen practices are suitable to be implemented in higher education institution because it gives huge advantages towards the entire organizational performance. Education institutions should guide the Kaizen practices to create a culture of ongoing improvement to improve the education system from time to time in the future.

Protocol, ceremonial and etiquette are important tools for capitalizing on the cultures of Europeanization of higher education / business / diplomatic environment. Thus, in this article, we aimed to draw the attention of stakeholders to the importance and impact of protocol and etiquette in the process of Europeanization of higher education. The general objective is to plead for the knowledge and correct application of the protocol rules and etiquette rules in the process of capitalizing on the culture of Europeanization of higher education. Even the partnership protocols between higher education institutions, the national and international business environment, the diplomatic environment are tools for building strategic educational bridges. At the same time, stakeholders involved in the process of capitalizing on the culture of Europeanization of higher education must be aware that these educational bridges will be successfully built only in terms of pillars Integrity, Manners, Personality, Appearance (in front of partners), Consideration, Tact, etc.

This article gives an account of how an intercultural business project was used as a case study in class without providing learners with theoretical information about national or work cultures prior to the session. By removing the focus from the essentialist view that misunderstandings on intercultural collaborations must be due to cultural differences, we provided the learners with a space in which to consider other interpretations, making more explicit the various communities to which an individual belongs. The extent to which the classroom session delivered on its aim of fostering a more complex understanding of international business collaborations is assessed based on learners’ reflection notes and classroom discussions.

Learning outcomes The specific teaching and learning objectives are as follows: to help students manage virtual communication in cross-cultural settings and developing the trust in virtual teams. To have them assess their effectiveness in the virtual collaboration process. To design the strategies to combat the challenges involved in working collaboratively on a common computing platform. Case overview/synopsis Higher education institutions in India are facing intense criticism for failing to impart employability skills to the students. Despite being one of the largest education systems in the world, Indian universities are not listed in the rankings of best international universities. It is grappling with the challenges of adopting the right teaching methodologies that foster deep learning, which may lead to sustainability in higher education. To gain relevancy, the higher education institutions must discover the ways to transit from the knowledge-intensive to skill-intensive institutions. By introducing a virtual collaborative professional project for international business students, Professor Bose proposed a small step of moving from a rote teacher-centric to more hands-on, student-centric teaching methodology. While virtual projects are a common and successful way of enhancing cross-cultural competence in students, Professor Bose is unsure how receptive Indian students will be with this methodology. He visualizes many challenges related to the execution of the project and is worried whether he will be successful in achieving his goal of skill-based knowledge creation. While systems and institutions of higher education in India struggle to address the pressures created by globalization, Professor Bose knew that the one-size-may not fit all. “Flexible pedagogy” and personalizing the methods to suit the requirements of a majority of the students was the way forward. However, he needs to know if the faculty and students will be open to change. Complexity academic level This case is immediately valuable for the students and faculty who are the part of the courses such as “International Business” in which the global leadership challenges, managing virtual communication in cross-cultural settings and developing the trust in virtual teams are main features of the curriculum. The case could also be used effectively in the seminars conducted for the managers working in international organizations and managing the tasks in virtual teams located globally. The international business has been consistently represented in the world economy for more than 150 years and has been continuously increasing and strengthening all the time, making it today the most important economic and globalization factor that undoubtedly dominates the world economy. It is characterized primarily by the so-called. multinational corporations that operate through their affiliates in several countries with the main goal of maintaining and increasing their profits. They are now present practically in all countries of the world, and it is estimated that their business activities now contribute to generating the global GDP of about 75%. Such a progressive multinational business generally bases itself on highly competent management and the use of the latest and increasingly productive technologies as a materialized expression of the development of applied economic and social sciences. Within all this, regarding the world-established freedom of movement of capital and labor, national states are making increasing efforts to regulate the breakthrough and functioning of an international business in their territories in the interest of their progress.In this context, in order to regulate the operation of the international business, it has been selected to study the treatment of international business in Serbia, as a small transition country, with the results thus obtained being representative for all the countries of the present day. Consequently, the focus of these studies is the attitude of the state of Serbia and its higher education towards the emerging international business. In this paper, with the help of an adequate questionnaire and respondents from higher education institutions, the attitude of the state and higher education towards the international business is considered, where adequate breakthrough of the positive and inert suppression of the negative activity of that business is ascertained. The positive treatment of this business is reflected in the state stimulation of its attraction in order to raise the level of GDP and employment, while the negative sides refer to the insufficient protection of national economic entities, the poor protection of the available natural resources, and the insufficient study of that business in higher education system of Serbia.On this basis, the paper presents suggestions that the state of Serbia and its higher education should even more constructively treat international business in the function of its further economic prosperity. Of course, all these results are not representative for Serbia only, but practically for all other countries.

Purpose: This paper endeavour is to address, the challenges faced by expatriate faculties while teaching International Business subject and case studies in classroom. Students lackingness with relevance to International Business subject; and paramountcy of a manager's role in achieving organizational goals in globalization era.Design/Methodology/Approach: This research adopts the empirical study method to analyse the essentialness of international Business subject at Undergraduate and Graduate level in Ethiopian universities.  Personal interview method adopted to analyse the primary evidence through questioner. Handbook of theory and research for Higher education is considered for review of literature; discussion and analysis which fixates on affinity for learning practical business skills rather theoretical. Vigour, Impotency, Opportunity, and Threats analysis explores all challenges and hurdles in teaching International Business subject.Findings: The study finds the consequentiality of the international business subject at both UG & PG level and fluency in English language at university level. Less fluency in English influence the cognition system across the geography, it links the course curriculum design predicated the industry trend and authoritatively mandate; Adscititiously, the study concludes the integration of curriculum and research at university level concerning the context of International Business. Lack of vigilance about course theoretical paramountcy with respect to integration of countries trade.Research Limitations/Implications: Underutilization of resources, fail to update each program's importance, opportunities, and outcomes in university websites. Most of the MBA students are either commerce or social science rather diverse background like science, pharma, and engineering. University-Industry Linkage department is not prioritizing to organize focus group discussions among a diverse group of employers and students to determine the primary skills and consequential attributes look for in students.Originality/Value: Ministry of Higher Education and universities are not giving much importance to the International Business subject, albeit the country’s exports and imports. Only two or three (Addis-Ababa, Mekelle, and Adama) Ethiopian Universities are active in research in higher education because of the collaborative influence of foreign university faculties.
