Cloud computing consists of three fundamental service models: infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a service and software-as-a-service. The technology “cloud computing” comprises four deployment models: public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud and community cloud. This chapter describes the six cloud service and deployment models, the association each of these services and models have with physical/virtual networks. Cloud service models are designed to power storage platforms, infrastructure solutions, provisioning and virtualization. Cloud computing services are developed to support shared network resources, provisioned between physical and virtual networks. These solutions are offered to organizations and consumers as utilities, to support dynamic, static, network and database provisioning processes. Vendors offer these resources to support day-to-day resource provisioning amid physical and virtual machines.

The article deals with the application of cloud computing to solve the problems of construction and analysis of engineering system acceptability regions (AR). It is claimed that the cloud plat-form is the most appropriate architecture for consolidating high-performance computing re-sources, modeling software and data warehouses in multi-user mode. The main components of the cloud environment for (AR) construction and analysis within the framework of the SaaS and DaaS cloud service models are discussed.

The research goal is to investigate the evolution of the concept of utility computing in the works of foreign researchers in the years 1959-1966. First the A. O. Mann’s results and expanded overview of the D. F. Parkhill’s results on the concept of computer (information) utility were introduced in the domestic scientific circulation. Functionally identity of the computer utility and cloud computing concepts was proved, as well as refined the primary sources of cloud service models. There was proposed the interpretation of the “cloud technologies of learning” concept. Continuity of the development of cloud technologies over the past 55 years and their relationship with the development of ICT in general was concluded. The research results make it possible to determine the prospects of the development of cloud computing in general and cloud technologies of learning in particular.

Data security in the cloud continues to be a huge concern. The adoption of cloud services continues to increase with more businesses transitioning from on premise technology infrastructures to outsourcing cloud-based infrastructures. As the cloud becomes more popular, users are increasingly demanding control over critical security elements of the data and technology assets that are in the cloud. In addition, there are still cries for greater data and security in the cloud. The goal of this paper is to provide cloud service users with greater control over data security in the cloud while at the same time optimizing overall security in the multi-tenant cloud computing environment. This paper introduces cloud-based intelligent agents that are configurable by the users and are expected to give greater compliance for data security in any of the cloud service models.
