Abstract PT URW is a company engaged in the textile sector that processes yarn into semi-finished fabrics. Such is the case that PT URW has a problem with its waste materials. To address this, the researcher has implemented the method of failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA). In data collection and processing, the researcher defined the problem, collected data, took measurements using the critical waste method, and interpreted the data into the Pareto Chart. The area that had the greatest value was continued to the analysis stages of critical waste analysis, FMEA analysis, and alternative solutions. The research was concluded by providing corrective solutions based on the potential causes that had been found in the previous stage and by validating the formed planned improvements.

Maturity models seek to enhance a business with the passage of time. The purpose is to attain a competitive advantage. Various maturity models are accessible, including the continuous improvement maturity model (CIMM). The model offers outstanding techniques and practice models in addition to tools, skill sets, and a proper mindset to process improvement. This article analyzes the need for Continuous Improvement Maturity Models in a company. Hence, the current maturity of a company cannot be indicated by this model. There is a need for progress and knowledge to combine and improve the company's level of maturity. The model assessment refers to an instrument that is research-based and assists the users to set a goal assessment of the maturity level. The purpose of designing this model is for it to be utilized by any manufacturing company. A series of repetitive phases are required by this instrument, and its moderations and validation are based on various case-studies and semi-structured interviews conducted with experts.

Costs are indicators of the financial and economic health of a company, as they are part of the production chain and are therefore necessary for the manufacture of a product, but when extra costs are included in production profitability is compromised. This paper aims to present the reduction of scrap costs of imported materials, identifying the problems related to the product and its impact on the company. As specific objectives, it aims to understand the problems that occur for the amount of parts disposal; develop a containment and correction action plan; implementation of improvements to the inspection and receiving line. As a methodology, we used a case study in a microwave oven assembly plant, where technical visits were conducted by two leaders responsible for the assembly, inspection and receiving sector, where the collection instruments were performed. For the elaboration of the solutions we used the 5W2H tool and control chart to find the faults in the parts.

Text analysis is a useful tool to determine what a company and its customers want in order to improve processes and methodologies of analysis. Searches in databases may have a time series component that determines the importance and sequences of multivariate searches and its structure. This paper presents a methodology to simplify and model multivariate searches in time using the Canonical Correlation approach. The techniques shown provide a robust methodology to simplify the analysis and create predictive models taking into account temporal dependencies.

In a globalized world, organizational culture plays an important role in companies since it represents one of the main factors of business success in competitive scenarios. Organizational culture is defined by a set of attitudes, behaviors, norms and beliefs that may guide the life of a company. Organizational values can ensure a common understanding among everyone in the organization, provided that they are shared by all their members. This study describes the results of a systematic literature review on typological model of organizational culture in order to identify organizational values for characterizing the organizational culture in a company. Additionally, we managed a survey to researchers and practitioners analyzing which organizational values are most relevant to a software organization involved with a software process improvement (SPI) initiative. In this paper, we describe forty organizational values identified in the systematic review, and we give particular emphasis in the values the survey results indicate as the main ones that influence the adoption/maintenance of SPI initiatives, i.e., (i) being committed to a high-quality policy for products, services, and processes; (ii) having a well-defined and established vision and goals; and (iii) imposing responsibilities on the team members for meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
