Smart Home is changing the way of today’s living. Technology is taking each and everything on internet, but when it is home than many considerations are there. Security and privacy is the major issue as far as life is considered. As per technical hazards issues could be, interoperability, integration, energy efficiency. These challenges are huge barriers in their applicability. Incredible work has been done to overcome the barriers. But still gaps are there. This paper is providing comprehensive information about available literature on above parameters and existing research gaps in the area. Findings of this paper can lead researchers to have research gaps in the security and privacy issues in smart home.

Once a smart home system moves to a multi-resident situation, it becomes significantly more important that individuals are tracked in some manner. By tracking individuals, the events received from the sensor platform can then be separated into different streams and acted on independently by other tools within the smart home system. This process improves activity detection, history building, and personalized interaction with the intelligent space. Historically, tracking has been primarily approached through a carried wireless device or an imaging system, such as video cameras. These are complicated approaches and still do not always effectively address the problem. Additionally, both of these solutions pose social problems to implement in private homes over long periods of time. This chapter introduces and explores a Bayesian Updating method of tracking individuals through the space that leverages the Center for Advanced Studies in Adaptive Systems (CASAS) technology platform of pervasive and passive sensors. This approach does not require the residents to maintain a wireless device, nor does it incorporate rich sensors with the social privacy issues.

The Internet Of Things describes the ever-growing number of intelligent objects that are being connected to the internet and each other, smartphones, tablets, wearable technology and smart home devices are adopted into our everyday lives. The security of IOT is becoming more complex and may have a serious consequence. So, now we have many security challenges like privacy concerns, routine cryptography, passive data collection etc. Many people hide personal data in social media to eliminate these sort of privacy issues but common man nowadays is becoming a passive participant due to lack of security in these IOT devices that are surrounding us.

In this paper, the design and application of smart wheelchair and charging station for disabled citizen is realized. The first stage of the paper is to make the wheelchair used by our disabled citizens able to access smart home technology via the vehicle via touch screen. The ability of citizens with disabilities to call with direct access via touch screen is also in the wheelchair designed. Thanks to the touch screen placed on the vehicle, disabled citizens are provided with the control of smart automation to control many objects such as curtains and doors in the home. In the second part of the paper, a solar powered charging station is designed and installed in order to charge battery powered wheelchairs. In the charging station made a special card reader system and has the charger to charge the card with disabilities to actively and means are provided.
