Blockchain is considered to be a disruptive core technology. Although many researchers have realized the importance of blockchain, but the research of it is still emerging. It is the record-keeping technology behind bitcoin and is one of the hottest and fastest growing skills in the IT sector today. It serves as an immutable ledger which allows transactions to take place in a decentralized man Blockchain-based applications are rising up, covering numerous fields including finance, healthcare, product management, Internet of Things (IoT), and many more. However, there are still some challenges of blockchain technology such as scalability and security problems which need to be overcome. This paper comprises of a comprehensive study of Blockchain technology. We have included here a deep dive into how blockchains work, its architecture, consensus and various applications. Furthermore, technical challenges are briefly listed.

AbstractThe paper studies what kind of support could be applied to the management of partly configurable modular systems. The main tasks of product management, product portfolio management and product variety management are defined. In addition, a partly configurable product structure and modular system are defined. Because the limited support in the literature for managing partly configurable modular systems, the article reviews previous product development cases in which authors have been involved on lessons learnt basis, i.e., if the methods and tools used in the cases could provide support for the research objective. As a result, the existing definition of the modular system should be extended by the concepts of non-module and design decision sequence description when dealing with partly configurable modular systems. This is because engineer-to-order should be made possible in cases where it brings clear added value to the customer compared to completely pre-defined solutions that may limit the customer's interest in the offering. Tools to assess the impact of changes to the product offering are required. These should be taken into account in frameworks that are used in method and tool development.

AbstractThis paper examines the relationship between industrialized production in the pork and broiler industries and the natural environment. Historical perspectives are presented regarding the movement toward increasingly concentrated and coordinated pork and broiler production units in the South. The relationships between animal by-product management and environmental quality, both at the farm level and within a geographic region, are addressed. Using the North Carolina pork industry as a background, current regulations and potential policy implications to protect environmental quality are discussed.

This article shares research findings from the healthcare equipment manufacturing industry on how product management teams can enhance their value-based innovation processes. Value-based healthcare (VBHC) has transformed healthcare systems worldwide by shifting their focus towards patient-centred value creation. The VBHC concept has also inspired medical equipment manufacturers that seek to enable healthcare providers to realize their VBHC ambitions. In this article, we focus on the development of hybrid solutions for operating rooms in the context of VBHC. Hybrid operating rooms (HORs) add real-time medical imaging to surgical and interventional treatment of patients. This combination is quite challenging to realize, not just in terms of technology but also organizationally. Adjusting technology to the requirements of multiple clinical stakeholders drives complexity to unprecedented heights. How can product strategists manage this multi-stakeholder complexity? Through in-depth case research, we found that adopting a clear VBHC vision is key for product management teams designing HOR innovations. A VBHC vision allows multiple teams to align and effectively collaborate with the goal of enhancing patient care. In addition, we found that integrating inside-out and outside-in perspectives on product innovation helps medical equipment manufacturers produce VBHC-compatible innovations and foster collaboration between clinicians working in multipurpose rooms such as HORs.
