Dockside container cranes have huge complex structures which have various kinds of types and lots of parameters for design. Moreover the finite element analysis must be carried out on the structures. An integrated CAD/CAM system for crane’s structures is introduced in this paper. A CAD platform of 3D parametric model family is built to allow generation of feasible configurations of crane products. Using Visual C++ and the second exploiting software kit, an integration method of CAD/CAE which includes regeneration of 3D parametric model, synchronous updating and analysis of FEA model is achieved.

This paper presents a method for designing of an engine group for motorsport automotive using the concept from the core to the periphery of the assembly. The core engine solution is an engine block with non-removable cylinder casing, 10 cylinders in V-normal at 72°, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) distribution solution. This powertrain solution is cooled with liquid in a pressurized cooling system. The method used is based in the first step on the modeling of the crankshaft assembly followed by, in the second step, the modeling the peripheral parts-engine assembly. In order to achieve the digital prototype of the engine group is used the CAD/CAM/CAE system named CATIA V5.

Abstract The goal of this paper is the creation of kinematic systems of the cardan shaft in the CAD/CAM/CAE system CATIA V5 and analysis of three cases of assembly to determine upon which, angular accelerations had been observed between the input driving shaft, central cardan shaft and output driven shaft. The scientific result of this paper was to confirm the presence of cardan error and how this type of error can be successfully eliminated.

The book discusses the problem of design (three-dimensional geometric modeling) machine components: shafts, gear wheels, gears and other reducer elements. Metods of virtual prototyping has been discussed on basis CAD / CAM / CAE -System CATIA (V) 5 which applied to complex geometric shapes for example gear. The method of using virtual prototyping in the system CATIA V5 in the process of design and technological preparation of production of worm gears also has been considered. Moreover, also analyses the technology of object-oriented modeling, implemented in a CAE system - Dymola, which is based on the use of the Modelica language. In addition to the basic elements of the language the hybrid model and three-dimensional animation models has been considered in the book. Set out the basic principles of working with Dymola - visual compiler of the Modelica language. Despite the brevity of presentation, the material presented is quite sufficient to fully represent a set of possibilities obtained by the developer of virtual prototypes of various purposes technical systems. The book can be used for mastering such general professional competences such as ability to use the techniques and skills of modeling and creation of engineering structures based on modern information technologies with the use of automation design work and the ability to have the skills of mathematical modeling of processes and objects on the basis of standard packages of research for wide range fields of study.

The paper introduced the method and technology of how to implement a Integrated Manufacturing, each CNC machining equipment is equipped with a special communication unit, each communication unit are directly connected with the DNC main control computers on the Internet, effect of special communication unit is mainly data buffer and protocol conversion, the TCP/IP protocol is used between communication unit and DNC main control Internet computer, and used serial communication protocol communication between communication unit and NC equipment. Using this technology, all kinds of CNC machining equipment and DNC system can be easily with the CAD/CAM/CAE system, digital profile measurement system, fault diagnosis and error compensation of intelligent system integration, providing good technical conditions for further information of various advanced manufacturing environment integration.
