The problems of structuring of indicators in multidimensional data cubes with their subsequent processing with the help of end-user tools providing multidimensional visualization and data management are analyzed; the possibilities of multidimensional data processing technologies for managing and supporting decision making at a design and technological enterprise are shown; practical recommendations on the use of domestic computer environments for the structuring and visualization of multidimensional data cubes are given.

Under certain interpretations of its coefficients, a specified econometric model is an exact representation of the “true” model, defining the “objective” probability distribution. This note enumerates these interpretations. In the absence of the conditions implied by these interpretations, the econometric model is misspecified. The note shows that model misspecifications prevent the satisfaction of a necessary and sufficient condition for individual expectations to be rational in Muth's sense. Whereas restrictive forms of econometric models can give very inaccurate predictions, this note describes the conditions under which the predictions generated from time-varying coefficient models coincide with the predictions generated from the relevant economic theory.

AbstractToday, image denoising by thresholding of wavelet coefficients is a commonly used tool for 2D image enhancement. Since the data product of spectroscopic imaging surveys has two spatial dimensions and one spectral dimension, the techniques for denoising have to be adapted to this change in dimensionality. In this paper we will review the basic method of denoising data by thresholding wavelet coefficients and implement a 2D–1D wavelet decomposition to obtain an efficient way of denoising spectroscopic data cubes. We conduct different simulations to evaluate the usefulness of the algorithm as part of a source finding pipeline.

In this paper an account is given of the observations which have been made with the 3-feet and 6-feet telescopes on the great Nebula in Orion during the last eighteen years. The observations are accompanied by an elaborate drawing. In the year 1852, Mr. Bindon Stoney made a drawing of the Huygenian region; it was repeatedly compared with the nebula by several persons, and we believe therefore that it was quite accurate. It is not now an exact representation of the nebula as it exists, consequently there seems to he strong evidence of change.
