Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to identify measure and prioritise the perceived importance of supply chain issues within the automotive industry related to information flow during product development (PD). Design/methodology/approach – This study analyses empirical data captured from semi-structure interviews with 15 multinational companies operating in the automotive sector. Data collected are analysed using a standard methodology identified from the literature. The individual issues captured are classified against 14 clusters that represent the core and the fundamental supply chain issues of information flow. Findings – This study showed that half of the issues captured are related to the inadequate information systems used. The cluster that had the majority of individual issues is related to suppliers that are not directly connected with their customers through an enterprise system. However it was identified that two fundamental clusters justify the decision of not being directly connected. Implementing and maintaining multiple enterprise systems can be a big overhead for multinational companies working with a high number of customers. Originality/value – Although several studies have proved the benefits that can be obtained through supply chain collaboration, there are relatively little empirical studies that seek to explore the understanding of supply chain issues in regards to information flow especially during PD. By identifying, measuring and prioritising the importance of supply chain issues this study provides researchers and practitioners guidance in developing better tools and defining more efficient processes.

The global supply chain applications are evolving and changing globally. In order to increase success, some processes are now transferred to other firms. By such implementations, it is aimed to focus on the core business and to be successful. 3PL is the use of an external entity to perform some or all of the operations. The 4PL approach is a revolutionary approach to supply chain management. 3PL and 4PL activities are used for many purposes by multinational companies for increasing the productivity and efficiency and for decreasing the overall operational costs. Like all countries, Turkey also faces strategic organizational changes in terms of logistics activities. Modernization of logistic professes are widely examined in the literature. The scope of this chapter is the logistics modernization processes of Turkish companies, and it aims to inform about the modernization processes in Turkey by examining successful real-life examples.

AbstractAlthough many people seem to share the intuition that multinational companies (MNEs) carry a responsibility for the working conditions in their supply chains, the justification offered for this assumption is usually rather unclear. This article explores a promising strategy for grounding the relevant intuition and for rendering its content more precise. It applies the criteria of David Miller's connection theory of remedial responsibility to different forms of supply chain governance as characterized by the Global Value Chains (GVC) framework. The analysis suggests that the criteria for identifying MNEs as remedially responsible for bad working conditions in their direct suppliers are fulfilled in many cases, even though differentiations are required with regard to the different supply chain governance structures. MNEs thus have a duty to make sure currently bad working conditions in their suppliers are changed for the better. Moreover, since production in supply chains for structural reasons continuously generates remedial responsibility of MNEs for bad working conditions in their suppliers, it puts the prospective responsibility on them to make sure that their suppliers offer acceptable working conditions. Further, it is suggested that the remedial responsibility of MNEs might require them to make financial compensation to victims of bad working conditions and in grave cases initiate or support programs to mitigate disastrous effects suffered by them.

The assembling area has contributed altogether to construction the country's financial system for agricultural nations similar to India; however it have likewise made numerous ecological and cultural issues. The arrangement with these issues, the current examination has recognized the empowering influences and displayed their interrelationships for the situation association of IndianThe aim of this paper is to identify and create relations between Sustainable Supply Chain Management Enablers (SSCMEs), to comprehend common impacts of these SSCMEs on SSCM use, and to discover the driving and reliance strength of SSCMEs. This paper has recognized 20 SSCMEs based on review and the sentiments of specialists from the scholarly community and industry. A nation poll-based study has been led to rank these recognized SSCMEs. The results of the study and interpretive basic demonstrating (ISM) strategy have been connected to develop shared connections among SSCMEs, which uncovers the immediate and aberrant impacts of each SSCMEs. The consequences of the ISM are utilized to contribute to the fluffy MICMAC (Matriced' Impacts Cruise's Multiplication Applique ea' un Classement) examination, to recognize the driving and the reliance intensity of SSCMEs. The 20 SSCMEs out of 25 SSCMEs (Mean ≥ 3.00) have been considered for investigation through an across-the-country poll that reviews Indian car associations. The coordinated methodology is produced since the ISM show gives just a twofold relationship among SSCMEs. In contrast, fluffy MICMAC examination gives detailed investigation identified with driving and the reliance intensity of SSCMEs. The weighting for ISM show improvement and fluffy MICMAC is based on the opinions of a few industry experts. It is the most emotional decision, and many biases on the part of the judge can have an effect on the final result. The examination gives vital rules to the two professionals, just as the academicians. The professionals need focus on these SSCMEs all the more cautiously amid SSCM execution. SSCM administrators may deliberately design its long-haul development to meet the SSCM activity plan. While, academicians might be urged to classify diverse issues, which are huge intending to these SSCMEs. The course of action of SSCMEs in a progression, the classification into the enablers and ward classifications, and fluffy MICMAC are a selective exertion in the territory of SSCM usage.

Purpose This research aims to review how current supply chain management (SCM) research addresses cultural issues, presents a critical assessment of literature and discusses future research avenues. Design/methodology/approach The literature is reviewed using systematic literature review, bibliometric citation analysis and content analysis. A total of between 1995 and 2019 in Institute for Scientific Information Web of Science’s database. Findings Descriptive data related to chronological evolution of literature, geographical location, influential papers and methodology are presented. Four main research areas were categorized, namely, papers on SC integration and performance; research on continuous improvement and lean initiatives; studies on the role of culture in sustainability, corporate social responsibility and green practices; and studies on emerging topics of research. Most studies focused on organizational culture frameworks, adopted a static approach to culture and targeted mainly developed countries and Asian emerging countries. A research agenda is suggested based on a multilevel cultural framework including operational and SCM culture. Research limitations/implications Practitioners and researchers will gain a greater understanding of how cultural issues have been addressed in current literature. A multilevel framework is proposed based on the concept of “operational” and “SCM culture”, to address some of the issues identified in current literature. Originality/value To the best of authors’ knowledge, this study is one of the first literature reviews that considers both national and organizational culture dimensions in SCM research, whereas prior approaches were fragmented or one-dimensional.
