The proliferation of smart devices in the Internet of Things (IoT) networks creates significant security challenges for the communications between such devices. Blockchain is a decentralized and distributed technology that can potentially tackle the security problems within the 5G-enabled IoT networks. This paper proposes a Multi layer Blockchain Security model to protect IoT networks while simplifying the implementation. The concept of clustering is utilized in order to facilitate the multi-layer architecture. The K-unknown clusters are defined within the IoT network by applying techniques that utillize a hybrid Evolutionary Computation Algorithm while using Simulated Annealing and Genetic Algorithms. The chosen cluster heads are responsible for local authentication and authorization. Local private blockchain implementation facilitates communications between the cluster heads and relevant base stations. Such a blockchain enhances credibility assurance and security while also providing a network authentication mechanism. The open-source Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain platform is deployed for the proposed model development. Base stations adopt a global blockchain approach to communicate with each other securely. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed clustering algorithm performs well when compared to the earlier reported approaches. The proposed lightweight blockchain model is also shown to be better suited to balance network latency and throughput as compared to a traditional global blockchain.

As an industrial communication data interaction specification, OPC Unified Architecture effectively solves the industrial Internet of Things system integration problem. This article designs an authentication and key agreement scheme based on implicit certificate using the security model provided by OPC Unified Architecture. It establishes the secure channel and provides a guarantee for secure session for the OPC Unified Architecture server and client. Then, the test verification platform is implemented to verify the feasibility of the scheme. The result shows that the mechanism is feasible, and the system security and availability are effectively improved.

Internet of Things is the next-generation Internet network created by intelligent objects with software and sensors, employed in a wide range of fields such as automotive, construction, health, textile, education and transportation. With the advent of Industry 4.0, Internet of Things has been started to be used and it has led to the emergence of innovative business models. The processing and production capabilities of Internet of Things objects in hidden and critical data provide great advantages for the next generation of Internet. However, the integrated features of Internet of Things objects cause vulnerabilities in terms of security, making them the target of cyber threats. In this study, a security model which offers an integrated risk-based Internet of Things security approach for the Internet of Things vulnerabilities while providing detailed information about Internet of Things and the types of attacks targeting Internet of Things is proposed. In addition, in this study, the vulnerabilities of Internet of Things were explained by classifying attack types threatening the physical layer, network layer, data processing layer and application layer. Moreover, the risk-based security model has been proposed by examining the vulnerabilities and threats of smart objects that generate the Internet of Things. The proposed Internet of Things model is a holistic security model that separately evaluates the Internet of Things layers against vulnerabilities and threats based on the risk-level approach.

At present, the internet of things has no standard system architecture. According to the requirements of universal sensing, reliable transmission, intelligent processing and the realization of human, human and the material, real-time communication between objects and things, the internet needs the open, hierarchical, extensible network architecture as the framework. The sensation equipment safe examination platform supports the platform through the open style scene examination to measure the equipment and provides the movement simulated environment, including each kind of movement and network environment and safety management center, turning on application gateway supports. It examines the knowledge library. Under this inspiration, this article proposes the novel security model based on the sparse neural network and wavelet analysis. The experiment indicates that the proposed model performs better compared with the other state-of-the-art algorithms.

A lightweight data security model is of much importance in view of security and privacy of data in several networks (e.g., fog networks) where available computing units at edge nodes are often constrained with low computing capacity and limited storage/availability of energy. To facilitate lightweight data security at such constrained scenarios, cellular automata (CA)-based lightweight data security model is presented in this chapter to enable low-cost physical implementation. For this reason, a detailed investigation is presented in this chapter to explore the potential capabilities of CA-based scheme towards the design of lightweight data security model. Further, a comparison among several existing lightweight data security models ensure the effectiveness for proposed CA-based lightweight data security model. Thus, application suitability in view of fog networks is explored for the proposed CA-based model which has further potential for easy training of a reservoir of computers towards uses in IoT (internet of things)-based multiple industry applications.
