Abstract The purpose of this investigation was to find a convenient method for correlating the variables involved in the transfer of heat from the wall of a passage to a gas moving at high velocity in the passage. A graphical design method has been developed, using the Reynolds analogy between heat transfer and friction, for one-dimensional flow in a passage of variable area, and with variable wall temperature.
