Objective: to determine the place of health in the system of values of the population of the surveillance zone (SZ) of nuclear power plants (NPPs) and its importance in the perception of emergency risks (ER). Materials and methods. To determine the place of health in the value system, a survey of the able-bodied population of satellite cities of Rivne (RNPP) and South Ukrainian (SUNPP) nuclear power plants was conducted using nonrepetitive sampling, where the sampling error does not exceed 7,0 %. The motivational and behavioral component that determined health in the individual hierarchy of values of the subject according to the questionnaire Berezovskaya R. A. was studied. Statistical and mathematical methods were used in the research process. Results. The array of respondents was conditionally divided into 4 groups according to their attitude to human health. And the group where a person’s life position is focused exclusively on health is the most common – 77,0 %. Group IV, which wants to live without limiting itself, is 8,1 %. The component integrity of values-goals and valuesmeans among the urban population of the SZ of both nuclear power plants is the same: the main goal in life is health, happy family life, and as a means – perseverance, diligence and health. Goal values in groups I and IV have some differences: in the first group of respondents the main goal in life is health, and in the fourth, where a person’s life guidelines exclude any restrictions – a happy family life. Values for these populations have some differences, but in both groups health appears to be the main means to an end. There is a close correlation between the core of terminal values and the average indicators of the state of concern about the risk of emergencies. Conclusions. Identified hierarchy of values: a group of stable dominant values; average status values; group of least significant values. The values of the highest status among the values-goals are – health, happy family life and interesting work. Most respondents plan to achieve them through values such as «health», «perseverance and hard work». There is a close correlation between the core of terminal values and the average indicators of the state of concern about the risk of emergencies. Key words: health, values, population, NPP surveillance zone, perception of emergency risks.

Water steam is widely used in steam turbines, steam engines, nuclear power plants and many other places. As a kind of working medium, it has many advantages, such as proper thermodynamic properties, non-toxic, odorless ,cheap, and so on. So it is very important how to determine the state parameters of water steam. In this paper we describe the two methods to determine state parameters of wet saturated steam, and the two methods are compared.

Main results of scientific and scientific-organizational activity of the Institute for Safety Problems of Nuclear Power Plants of Ukraine in 2019 are given, among them research and scientific information work, use of researches results in the economy, cooperation with national and international institutions, training of the scientific personnel, participation of young scientists in the international cooperation, knowledge and experience transfer, promotion of research achievements, coverage of scientific and research works in mass media, research and expert works for the benefit and on demand of the public authorities as well as publication of scientific results. It was shown that important results both in the study of the state of nuclear and radiation safety of the Shelter object and in works focused on the improvement of the reliability, effectiveness and operation safety of working Ukrainian nuclear power plants were received by specialists of the Institute. According to the specifics of the Institute’s activities, research work is carried out at nuclear and radiation-hazardous facilities. Therefore, special requirements are set for equipment, facilities and staffing, namely: the need to obtain licenses from the SNRC of Ukraine, a certified quality system, certified laboratories of the appropriate class of radiation hazard, mandatory medical examinations, testing of knowledge of nuclear and radiation safety, etc. The location of the laboratory base in Chornobyl, the need to perform work in radiationhazardous conditions and perform radiation control are the reasons for significant financial costs for transportation services, medical examinations, obtaining the necessary licenses, providing overalls and personal protective equipment. Despite the low level of financing caused by economic crisis in the state the institution does everything possible for maintaining its scientific and technical potential and has strategic aim — to become leading institution of Ukraine which render scientific-technical, engineering, methodical and information services in the sphere of safe operation of facilities with nuclear technologies, elimination of radiation accidents consequences, nuclear facilities decommissioning, radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel treatment and transformation of the Shelter object into an ecologically safe system.

The article is the first to consider the author’s method of SWOT analysis of engineering companies of the state corporation “Rosatom”. The purpose of the SWOT analysis for organizations is to get a clear idea of the main directions of development of the objects understudy. Due to the impossibility of substantiating the optimality of the selected factors and the corresponding strategy, the spatiality and ambiguity of the SWOT analysis results arise. Purpose: defining the specifics of SWOT analysis for nuclear energy companies and consideration of the author’s method of SWOT analysis of engineering companies in the domestic nuclear industry. The implementation of this goal required the following tasks: - Studying the opportunities and threats of engineering companies in the nuclear industry. - Studying the strengths and weaknesses of engineering companies. - Offering a sound SWOT analysis methodology that takes into account the specifics of companies. Methodology. The features of the proposed method are: - taking into account the specifics of engineering companies in the nuclear industry, including the study of many factors characteristic of the nuclear power industry. Besides, taking into account the opportunities and threats for participants in the creation of nuclear power plants and other facilities created by other stakeholders in the process of development of engineering companies, as well as taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of the companies in the nuclear industry. - It is proposed to use an integrated approach when ranking strengths and weaknesses, taking into account the opportunities and threats of companies in the nuclear industry. We note that, first of all, indicators of reliability and safety of nuclear power plants and other facilities are taken into account when determining the strengths and weaknesses of engineering companies, and only then other analyzed indicators. Result: the method of ranking strengths and weaknesses proposed in the methodology can be used to substantiate the optimal decisions made by engineering companies. Conclusion: this technique can be applied to determine the state of the nuclear industry companies, to assess their efficiency and competitiveness.
