Abstract We further develop the asymptotic analytic approach to the study of scattering diagrams. We do so by analyzing the asymptotic behavior of Maurer–Cartan elements of a (dg) Lie algebra constructed from a (not necessarily tropical) monoid-graded Lie algebra. In this framework, we give alternative differential geometric proofs of the consistent completion of scattering diagrams, originally proved by Kontsevich–Soibelman, Gross–Siebert, and Bridgeland. We also give a geometric interpretation of theta functions and their wall-crossing. In the tropical setting, we interpret Maurer–Cartan elements, and therefore consistent scattering diagrams, in terms of the refined counting of tropical disks. We also describe theta functions, in both their tropical and Hall algebraic settings, in terms of distinguished flat sections of the Maurer–Cartan-deformed differential. In particular, this allows us to give a combinatorial description of Hall algebra theta functions for acyclic quivers with nondegenerate skew-symmetrized Euler forms.

We study the action of the inertia operator on the motivic Hall algebra and prove that it is diagonalizable. This leads to a filtration of the Hall algebra, whose associated graded algebra is commutative. In particular, the degree 1 subspace forms a Lie algebra, which we call the Lie algebra ofvirtually indecomposableelements, following Joyce. We prove that the integral of virtually indecomposable elements admits an Euler characteristic specialization. In order to take advantage of the fact that our inertia groups are unit groups in algebras, we introduce the notion ofalgebroid.

In the paper it is shown that the two-dimensional dynamical system of equations is Darboux integrable if and only if its characteristic Lie algebra is finite-dimensional. The class of systems having a full set of fist and second order integrals is described.

Equations of hydrodynamic type with the equation of state in the form of pressure separated into a sum of density and entropy functions are considered. Such a system of equations admits a twelve-dimensional Lie algebra. In the case of the equation of state of the general form, the equations of gas dynamics admit an eleven-dimensional Lie algebra. For both Lie algebras the optimal systems of non-similar subalgebras are constructed. In this paper two partially invariant submodels of rank 3 defect 1 are constructed for two-dimensional subalgebras of the twelve-dimensional Lie algebra. The reduction of the constructed submodels to invariant submodels of eleven-dimensional and twelve-dimensional Lie algebras is proved.

The discussions up to Chapter 4 have been concerned with the Lie group. In this chapter, the Lie algebra is constructed by defining the operators ∇ and ∇̃.

The anti-self-duality equations for gauge fields in d = 4 and a generalization of these equations to dimension d = 4n are considered. For gauge fields with values in an arbitrary semisimple Lie algebra [Formula: see text] we introduce the ansatz which reduces the anti-self-duality equations in the Euclidean space ℝ4n to a system of equations breaking up into the well known Nahm's equations and some linear equations for scalar field φ.
