In this paper, the background of cloud computing technology to study how to optimize cloud computing data center energy efficiency mechanisms. This paper analyzes the DVFS energy saving strategy, virtualization energy saving strategy, turn off / on energy saving strategies, such as the current mainstream strategy, comparing different energy saving strategies have not applied scenes.

Usually cloud computing is based under effective data computing but green cloud computing focus on energy efficiency of device and computing mainly based on computing architecture. Here cloud computing is also known as green computing due its better effective energy. The purpose of green computing is to decrease the usage of harmful resources, maximizing energy efficiency throughout the living span of the good and also to promote the recyclability or bio degradability of useless goods plus misuse materials of the factory. In order to simulate the hardware by utilizing software, green computing plays a major role for various technologies like virtualization, green data center, cloud and grid computing and power optimization. Here computer resources are effectively utilized by replacing the data center standalone server system by artificial server so as to run the software by less number for large computers called as virtualized. Finally this paper is fulfilled by the advancement of recognized energy efficient computing

Cloud computing is internet computing that offers metering-based services to customers. It implies accessing data from a consolidated pool of computer resources that may be requested and consumed on-demand. It also offers computer resources via virtualized over the internet. The data center is the most essential in cloud computing which includes a group of servers on which Business records are kept and applications operate. The data center which contains servers, cables, air conditioning units, networks, etc. uses more electricity and emits a large quantity of Carbon-di-oxide (CO2) to the atmosphere. One of the most significant problems encountered in cloud technology is the optimizing of Energy Usage. Hence the idea of cloud computing originated. It is a concept for allowing all over, on-demand access to a shared pool of customizable computer resources[ Wanneng Shu et. A.,2014].

The data centers are fundamental pieces in the network and computing infrastructure, and evidently today more than ever they are relevant. Since they support the processing, analysis, assurance of the data generated in the network and by the applications in the cloud, which every day increases its volume thanks to technologies such as Internet of Things, Virtualization, and cloud computing, among others. Precisely the management of this large volume of information makes the data centers consume a lot of energy, generating great concern to owners and administrators. Green Data Centers offer a solution to this problem, reducing the impact produced by the data centers in the environment, through the monitoring and control of these. The metrics are the tools that allow us to measure in our case the energy efficiency of the data center and evaluate if it is friendly to the environment. These metrics will be applied to the data centers of the ITSA University Institution, Barranquilla and Soledad campus, and the analysis of these will be carried out. In previous research, the most common metric (PUE) was analyzed to measure the efficiency of the data centers, to verify if the University's data center is friendly to the environment. It is planned to extend this study by carrying out an analysis of several metrics to conclude which is the most efficient and which allows defining the guidelines to update or convert the data center in a friendly environment.

Green Cloud computing is envisioned to achieve not only efficient processing and utilization of computing but also to minimize energy consumption. This is essential for ensuring that the future growth of Cloud computing is sustainable. Otherwise, Cloud computing with increasingly pervasive client devices interacting with data centers will cause an enormous escalation of energy usage. To address this problem, data center resources need to be managed in an energy-efficient manner to drive Green Cloud computing. The management of power consumption in data centers has led to a number of substantial improvements in energy efficiency. Techniques such as ON/OFF mode on server of data centers improve the energy efficiency of Cloud computing. In this chapter, the authors present how to calculate power consumption in Cloud computing and how power consumption in a data center can be reduced when its storage is used in a way that decreases the time needed to access it.

Data centers are serious, energy-hungry infrastructures that can run large scale Internet based services. Energy ingesting representations are essential in designing and improving energy-efficient operations to reduce excessive energy consumption in data centers. This paper presents a survey on Energy efficiency in data centers, importance of energy efficiency. It also describes the increasing demands for data center in worldwide and the reasons for data centers energy inefficient? In this paper we define the challenges for implementing changes in data centers and explain why and how the energy requirements of data centers are growing. After that we compare the German data center market at international level and we see the energy consumption of data centers and servers in Germany from 2010 -2016.
