Cloud computing is internet computing that offers metering-based services to customers. It implies accessing data from a consolidated pool of computer resources that may be requested and consumed on-demand. It also offers computer resources via virtualized over the internet. The data center is the most essential in cloud computing which includes a group of servers on which Business records are kept and applications operate. The data center which contains servers, cables, air conditioning units, networks, etc. uses more electricity and emits a large quantity of Carbon-di-oxide (CO2) to the atmosphere. One of the most significant problems encountered in cloud technology is the optimizing of Energy Usage. Hence the idea of cloud computing originated. It is a concept for allowing all over, on-demand access to a shared pool of customizable computer resources[ Wanneng Shu et. A.,2014].

Cloud computing is used to provide users with computer resources on-demand any time over the Internet. At the Hochschule Furtwangen University (HFU) students, lecturers, and researchers can leverage cloud computing to enhance their e-learning experience. This chapter presents how cloud computing provides on-demand virtual desktops for problem solving, on-demand virtual labs for special courses, and on-demand collaboration platforms to support research groups. The focus is how cloud services can be used, how they can be integrated into the existing HFU-IT infrastructure, and how new didactic models could look.

Usually cloud computing is based under effective data computing but green cloud computing focus on energy efficiency of device and computing mainly based on computing architecture. Here cloud computing is also known as green computing due its better effective energy. The purpose of green computing is to decrease the usage of harmful resources, maximizing energy efficiency throughout the living span of the good and also to promote the recyclability or bio degradability of useless goods plus misuse materials of the factory. In order to simulate the hardware by utilizing software, green computing plays a major role for various technologies like virtualization, green data center, cloud and grid computing and power optimization. Here computer resources are effectively utilized by replacing the data center standalone server system by artificial server so as to run the software by less number for large computers called as virtualized. Finally this paper is fulfilled by the advancement of recognized energy efficient computing

The quick improvement of handling and storage technologies and success of the Internet, computing devices are now less expensive, more accessible. This innovative method has enabled the new business model that is cloud computing, in this model, resources are provided as common service that client takes on lease on the Internet. The corporations are showing more interest and participation in cloud computing and they startedto move their businesses on cloud computing. In past few years, cloud computing technology set up as an emerging research point. Numerous analysts, in any case, concentrate only on technological aspects of cloud technology, thereby ignoring the business openings and possibilities that can be offered by cloud technology. The focus of this paper lies on the increasing role of cloud computing in business and also how cloud computing influencing business positively. We will also discuss about challenges for cloud computing to completely penetrate in business and how these challenges are declining with time and also with cloud maturity. As the enterprises matured in cloud environment the overall challenges reduced very quickly.

Data Centers (DC) are specific buildings that require large infrastructures to store all the information needed by companies. All data transmitted over the network is stored on CDs. By the end of 2020, Data Centers will grow 53% worldwide. There are methodologies that measure the efficiency of energy consumption. The most used metric is the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) index, but it does not fully reflect efficiency. Three DC’s located at the cities of Curitiba, Londrina and Iguaçu Falls (Brazil) with close PUE values, are evaluated in this article using the Energy Usage Effectiveness Design (EUED) index as an alternative to the current method. EUED uses energy as a comparative element in the design phase. Infrastructure consumption is the sum of energy with Heating, Ventilating and Air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, equipment, lighting and others. The EUED values obtained were 1.245 (kWh/yr)/(kWh/yr), 1.313 (kWh/yr)/(kWh/yr) and 1.316 (kWh/yr)/(kWh/yr) to Curitiba, Londrina and Iguaçu Falls, respectively. The difference between the EUED and the PUE Constant External Air Temperature (COA) is 16.87% for Curitiba, 13.33% for Londrina and 13.30% for Iguaçu Falls. The new Perfect Design Data center (PDD) index prioritizes efficiency in increasing order is an easy index to interpret. It is a redefinition of EUED, given by a linear equation, which provides an approximate result and uses a classification table. It is a decision support index for the location of a Data Center in the project phase.

In the modern era, technologies are being used by everyone.” Cloud” refers to a collaborative expression for boundless advancements and progression. Cloud computing is a disruptive technology for providing on-demand access to data and applications from anywhere at any time in the world. Cloud computing incorporates various available innovations and technologies like virtualization, bandwidth networks, Web 2.0, browser interfaces, and time-sharing. Cloud computing enables us to share the resources like storage, applications, services, and networks without physically obtaining them. The data is stored in the databases on the servers and users/clients need to request access by sending the request to these servers. This paper includes the various details of cloud technology, its characteristics, its models alongside the challenges and problems faced in cloud computing. Here the focus is on the theoretical explanation of the cloud, models of the cloud, and the problems in the security and confrontation faced during the exertion of the cloud technology.

Abstract: Nowadays, ICT sector activities and in particular Data Centers are known as an important environmental hazard. With the increasing popularity of the Internet and cloud computing, this threat seems to even get worse in the near future. Despite this increasing importance, there is still little have been done about data centers environmental affects and in particular measuring their green compliance level including all three Rs of waste management (Reuse, Reuse and Recycle). This paper tries to introduce a dashboard for evaluating data centers level of green compliance regardless of their tier. However, the dashboard is proposed based on Malaysias data centers condition, it still can be beneficial to data center managers in other parts of the world and researchers to open up new research possibilities.

In recent years, cloud computing has developed from the promising business concept that it used to be, to one of Information Technology (IT) industry's most developing section. Now that the world economy was hit by recession, the victims of this tragedy continually understand that by just outsourcing or tapping the cloud  resources, a package of virtualise, elastic, instant on-demand provision, and scalable; infrastructure, platform, and software can be access fast and easy inform of services at a negligible amount via the internet. However, as individuals and organizations embarked on the course of deploying their information and data into the cloud, anxieties are beginning to develop on whether the cloud environment is safe. This research provides an overview of the cloud deployment model, the services they offer and discusses the security issues and challenges of cloud computing in both data storage and virtual applications/servers.
