The notion of soft set theory was initiated as a general mathematical tool for handling ambiguities. Decision making is viewed as a cognitive-based human activity for selecting the best alternative. In the present time, decision making techniques based on fuzzy soft sets have gained enormous attentions. On this development, this paper proposes a new algorithm for decision making in fuzzy soft set environment by hybridizing some existing techniques. The first novelty is the idea of absolute scores. The second concerns the concept of priority table in group decision making problems. The advantages of our approach herein are stronger power of objects discrimination and a well-determined inference.

Investment strategy selection relies heavily on personal experience and behavior. This paper proposes an improved Analytical Hierarchy Process-group decision making (IAHP-GDM) model to reduce investment risk. This model applies the method of least squares to adjust group decision matrix in order to satisfy the property of positive reciprocal matrix in AHP. In addition, five experts from related fields are invited to evaluate investment risk that takes group wisdom to eliminate personal bias. An empirical study is conducted to compare the proposed model to AHP for group decision making model. The results show that the IAHP-GDM model is not only accurate and effective, but also consistent with realistic investment environment.

This article introduces the concept of Heronian mean operators, geometric Heronian mean operators, neutrosophic cubic number–improved generalized weighted Heronian mean operators, neutrosophic cubic number–improved generalized weighted geometric Heronian mean operators. These operators actually generalize the operators of fuzzy sets, cubic sets, and neutrosophic sets. We investigate the average weighted operator on neutrosophic cubic sets and weighted geometric operator on neutrosophic cubic sets to aggregate the neutrosophic cubic information. After this, based on average weighted and geometric weighted and cosine similarity function in neutrosophic cubic sets, we developed a multiple attribute group decision-making method. Finally, we give a mathematical example to illustrate the usefulness and application of the proposed method.

Pawlak’s rough set theory based on single granulation has been extended to multi-granulation rough set structure in recent years. Multi-granulation rough set theory has become a flouring research direction in rough set theory. In this paper, we propose the notion of (α, β)-multi-granulation bipolar fuzzified rough set ((α, β)-MGBFRSs). For this purpose, a collection of bipolar fuzzy tolerance relations has been used. In the framework of multi-granulation, we proposed two types of (α, β)-multi-granulation bipolar fuzzified rough sets model. One is called the optimistic (α, β)-multi-granulation bipolar fuzzified rough sets ((α, β) o-MGBFRSs) and the other is called the pessimistic (α, β)-multi-granulation bipolar fuzzified rough sets ((α, β) p-MGBFRSs). Subsequently, a number of important structural properties and results of proposed models are investigated in detail. The relationships among the (α, β)-MGBFRSs, (α, β) o-MGBFRSs and (α, β) p-MGBFRSs are also established. In order to illustrate our proposed models, some examples are considered, which are helpful for applying this theory in practical issues. Moreover, several important measures associated with (α, β)-multi-granulation bipolar fuzzified rough set like the measure of accuracy, the measure of precision, and accuracy of approximation are presented. Finally, we construct a new approach to multi-criteria group decision-making method based on (α, β)-MGBFRSs, and the validity of this technique is illustrated by a practical application. Compared with the existing results, we also expound its advantages.

Hesitant fuzzy set (HFS), a generalization of fuzzy set (FS), permits the membership degree of an element of a set to be represented as several possible values between 0 and 1. In this paper, motivated by the extension principle of HFs, we export Einstein operations on FSs to HFs, and develop some new aggregation operators, such as the hesitant fuzzy Einstein weighted geometric operator, hesitant fuzzy Einstein ordered weighted geometric operator, and hesitant fuzzy Einstein hybrid weighted geometric operator, for aggregating hesitant fuzzy elements. In addition, we discuss the correlations between the proposed aggregation operators and the existing ones respectively. Finally, we apply the hesitant fuzzy Einstein weighted geometric operator to multiple attribute group decision making with hesitant fuzzy information. Some numerical examples are given to illustrate the proposed aggregation operators.

It is an interesting direction to study rough sets from a multi-granularity perspective. In rough set theory, the multi-particle structure was represented by a binary relation. This paper considers a new neutrosophic rough set model, multi-granulation neutrosophic rough set (MGNRS). First, the concept of MGNRS on a single domain and dual domains was proposed. Then, their properties and operators were considered. We obtained that MGNRS on dual domains will degenerate into MGNRS on a single domain when the two domains are the same. Finally, a kind of special multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM) problem was solved based on MGNRS on dual domains, and an example was given to show its feasibility.
