With the rapid expansion of graphs and networks and the growing magnitude of data from all areas of science, effective treatment and compression schemes of context-dependent data is extremely desirable. A particularly interesting direction is to compress the data while keeping the “structural information” only and ignoring the concrete labelings. Under this direction, Choi and Szpankowski introduced the structures (unlabeled graphs) which allowed them to compute the structural entropy of the Erdos–Rényi random graph model. Moreover, they also provided an asymptotically optimal compression algorithm that (asymptotically) achieves this entropy limit and runs in expectation in linear time. In this paper, we consider the stochastic block models with an arbitrary number of parts. Indeed, we define a partitioned structural entropy for stochastic block models, which generalizes the structural entropy for unlabeled graphs and encodes the partition information as well. We then compute the partitioned structural entropy of the stochastic block models, and provide a compression scheme that asymptotically achieves this entropy limit.

In the process of studying at a university, under the influence of large mental, physical, and psychic loads, students experience emotional exhaustion, a decrease in interest in studying, as well as a deterioration in their health. Statistics show that approximately 50% of university students are exposed to emotional burnout. Students of engineering specialties are no exception, large mental loads, design work performance that requires intellectual and mental tension lead to emotional burnout, reduced interest in study, depression, and deterioration of general health. This problem has required resolution. To prevent emotional burnout in students of engineering specialties, the means of artpedagogy were used: music, choreography, and dance. The most popular and interesting for students was the Art Nouveau dance as, according to many researchers, the most effective, modern and interesting direction of modern choreography. To assess the effectiveness of experimental work on the prevention of emotional burnout, the criteria presented by physical, emotional, intellectual and social indicators were determined in students in engineering specialties. The results obtained at the beginning of the pedagogical experiment showed that students had initial signs of emotional burnout according to the indicators studied. The students were subdivided into control and experimental groups. The pedagogical experiment took place during the school year, including vacation time: the frequency of classes - 3 times a week. At the end of the pedagogical experiment, a repeated study of the emotional state of the students according to the selected criteria was carried out. The indicators of students from the experimental group improved significantly in all the indicators studied: physical performance and social activity increased, there was a desire to study, interest in educational activities increased. The results of the pedagogical experiment proved the need for targeted work with students of engineering specialties in the prevention of emotional burnout. The most effective tool for this prevention is the inclusion of students in creative activities with a pronounced emotional orientation, to which Art Nouveau dance belongs.

It has been said that Central and Eastern Europe can be seen as an interesting direction for Indian political and economic expansion. Both the data on diplomatic activity and India’s trade with the countries of CEE, however, prove that the region is not of key importance for New Delhi’s foreign policy. On the other hand, a steadily growing trade turnover allows assuming that the current situation will gradually change. The conclusions may be confirmed by the analysis of New Delhi’s diplomacy directions in the region. The Indian leaders (not the most important figures, taking into account symbolism and real significance) visited in the years 2014-2019 the CEE countries with the highest trade turnover with India, namely Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania. They also paid visits to Bulgaria, Croatia and Serbia, that is countries with which India’s trade turnover is relatively low, but steadily growing. It may indicate a desire to establish more active diplomatic and economic involvement in this region than previously.

The review shows the most interesting and promising studies presented at major international conferences of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the European Hematology Association, and the American Society of Hematology in 2020. The main aim of the therapy for Hodgkin lymphoma (HL), which have been formulated over the past 20 years, is the highly effective therapy and high quality of life, and the main possibility to solve this task is positron emission tomography (PET). The studies presented at conferences this year have shown that PET-adapted therapy has become the basis of modern HL therapy. The second equally interesting direction presented at the conferences this year is the widespread use of targeted (brentuximab vedotin) therapy and immunotherapy (nivolumab, pembrolizumab) in combination with standard chemotherapy not only in patients with relapsed/refractory HL, but also as first-line therapy, including the patients of an elderly section. The combination of brentuximab vedotin and immunotherapy during all lines of HL treatment, as well as brentuximab vedotin and immunotherapy consolidation after high-dose chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation are another direction to improve the efficacy of therapy in patients with HL.

This chapter is about some observations of the social and economic impact of ICT and ICT digital infrastructures and more specifically what users do with processing and telecommunication power tools. Network architects should be aware of those. Computer systems are no longer neutral tools, but they influence companies, public policies for control and institutions, and civil society cooperatives. Even the internet architecture board (IAB) has issued a directive about these effects. Electronic and network surveillance of users and what they do is growing with effects on elections. ICT is at the core of several large-scale transitions identified in this chapter. Groups of people who are immune to social media propaganda and alternative truth are discovered. And the chapter is rounded off with a hopeful vision about constructive value creation in cooperatives and science teams, making use of liberty of though and diversity of backgrounds. Making swarms and micro grids makes society alive again. Social super resolution is an interesting direction to pursue together.

Creative communities are grassroots, bottom-up initiatives of people who through their diffuse design capacity propose new, desirable service futures that address the problems of everyday life. These creative communities exist within a transition from modernity towards sustainment, their adversarial character embodies alternative values such as conviviality, solidarity, openness and shift the focus from growth to flourishing. The sociotechnical system that is a creative community creating social innovation faces constant threats due to the collapse of traditional support structures and their disruptive, adversarial character and so, identifying strategies to increase its resilience is necessary. We turn to nature for inspiration and mentoring. Biomimisis is a framework that designs solutions inspired by biological systems. We argue that permaculture, provides an interesting direction for the development and research in the context of social innovation.

AbstractThe Fano and Rabi models represent remarkably common effects in optics. Here we study the coherent time dynamics of plasmonic systems exhibiting Fano and Rabi spectral responses. We demonstrate that these systems show fundamentally different dynamics. A plasmonic system with a Fano resonance displays at most one temporal beat under pulsed excitation, whereas a plasmonic system in the Rabi-like regime may have any number of beats. Remarkably, the Fano-like systems show time dynamics with very characteristic coherent tails despite the strong decoherence that is intrinsic for such systems. The coherent Fano and Rabi dynamics that we predicted can be observed in plasmonic nanocrystal dimers in time-resolved experiments. Our study demonstrates that such coherent temporal plasmonics includes non-trivial and characteristic relaxation behaviors and presents an interesting direction to develop with further research.

Tesmin (Testis-specific metallothionein-like protein) was first observed during meiotic division of spermatocytes in mouse testis. Expression of tesmin was also found in somatic cells of various organs. In addition to the suggested function of regulating the meiotic division of germ cells, the cysteine-rich domains in tesmin structure allow to bind heavy metal ions. In addition, this protein acts as a co-activator of the nuclear mineralocorticoid receptor, which may affect the expression of many other genes. Tesmin could also potentially play a role in disease states such as: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, osteoporosis, AIDS encephalopathy, as well as neoplasms: acute lymphoblastic leukemia, prostate cancer or non-small cell lung cancer. The above reports on the multifaceted role of tesmin in various disease processes suggest that it could be an interesting direction for further research, what this paper aims to present.

The article presents the assumptions of a modern management model of railway stations. In this model, the station is perceived as part of a multimodal hub which includes, besides the building used for passenger’ check-in, also railway platforms, access routes and surrounding infrastructure in the form of public transport stops and parking lots and other facilities. The authors point to the necessity of constructing interchange nodes integrating the station with the urban tissue. The article discusses the issue of categorizing stations and standardizing services at railway stations to best meet the needs of users. The authors point out that innovative solutions are the key condition for improving the quality of stations. The station design process should be linked to the current review and the search for innovations in the field of materials, energy, ICT, architecture and passenger services. An interesting direction for the development of railway stations are services related to the sharing economy, such as co-working, car-sharing and bike-sharing. The article also presents the concept of creating an integrated entity managing the passenger station area, a model of solutions in other European countries.
