Systematic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem disease, including the gastrointestinal system in about half of SLE patients. As a rare complication of SLE, acute pancreatitis presents as generalized flare-ups in most cases of patients previously diagnosed with SLE. Here we report a rare case of acute pancreatitis as the initial presentation with later diagnosis of SLE.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is an unusual cause of brain abscess. Among the few cases of Klebsiella pneumoniae brain abscess that have been reported, most were associated with another underlying primary focus of infection. Endogenous endophthalmitis caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae is an infrequent but often devastating septic metastatic infection. We report a rare case of Klebsiella pneumoniae brain abscess and endophthalmitis after acute epiglottitis.

Cranial metastases from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been seldom reported. Reported herein is the case of a painless parietal bone mass as an initial presentation of HCC in a 63-year-old female patient who was subsequently diagnosed to have HCV related cirrhosis. The biopsy from cranial lesion was confirmatory of HCC on immunohistochemistry. The patient had no known history of chronic liver disease. The presented diagnosis was made through detailed history, laboratory parameters and cross sectional imaging.
