abstract: To evaluate the behavior of semi-continuous composite beams in fire, six finite elements numerical models with several steel profiles and slab dimensions were developed in ABAQUS software. The models took into account several behaviors usually suppressed in simplified analyzes such as: geometric and materials non-linearity properties and thermal expansion effects, including indirect stresses. Three support conditions were analyzed: simply supported (axial released), axial restrained and semi-continuous, totaling 18 analyzes. The different support conditions results were compared to each other and to the fire resistance time designed by simplified methods, which followed design code recommendations.

Abstract This paper presents an analysis of timber-concrete composite beams. Said composite beams consist of rectangular timber beams and concrete slabs poured into the steel sheeting. The concrete slab is connected with the timber beam using special shear connectors. The authors of this article are trying to patent these connectors. The article contains results from a numerical analysis. It is demonstrated that the type of steel sheeting used as a lost formwork has an influence on the load-bearing capacity and stiffness of the timber-concrete composite beams.

In this paper experimental and numerical analysis of timber-lightweight concrete composite floor elements with glued shear connection under short term loading is presented. The composite connection of two materials by special adhesive for bounding wet concrete to timber was performed. For experimental test and theoretical analysis two type of composite beams was used. Comparison of test with theoretical results is finally presented.
